Chapter 61: Could It Be Because I'm Handsome?
“Alright…” Ye Fei nodded, withdrew his hand and smiled, “Not bad. I’ll write you a prescription in a bit. Have your men get the ingredients, boil them into a soup and drink it. It’ll speed up your recovery. Don’t be so formal with me.”
“Thanks, Brother Fei.” Yang Tianming’s face was full of gratitude.
“Also, I actually came here for something else.” Ye Fei didn’t waste words, getting straight to the point. “I have a number here. The phone’s off, I can’t get through at all. Can you check its location or maybe pinpoint it?”
He handed over the card he’d gotten from the orphanage.
“No problem! This is what I’m best at!” Yang Tianming quickly took the card, glanced at the number, thought for a few seconds, and said, “Brother Fei, this number is from Hangzhou. Grab my laptop from the bag, let me see if I can track it.”
“No rush, rest up first.” Ye Fei shook his head.
“Brother Fei, your business is my business. This can’t wait.” Yang Tianming insisted. “If it weren’t for you, I’d be half crippled now. This life is yours, I’ll never forget it.”
“Alright, alright.” Ye Fei had no choice but to go to the table and fetch the laptop.
Soon, Yang Tianming was typing away, focused entirely on the screen.
Ye Fei didn’t dare disturb him and stepped outside to light a cigarette, smoking slowly.
He didn’t know much about hacking, but it was said to be mentally exhausting. He’d tried to learn in the past, but the old man wouldn’t allow him to dabble in such things, insisting he only practice his skills.
“Brother Fei!”
“There’s news!”
Ye Fei hurried back into the hospital room.
“I’ve tracked the location of the number!” Yang Tianming frowned tightly. “The latest satellite tracking shows… in just two days, she flew from abroad to the country and now she’s heading straight for Hangzhou!”
“Oh?” Ye Fei raised an eyebrow. “Can you get through?”
“No,” Yang Tianming replied. “The phone’s online, Brother Fei. I suspect you couldn’t reach her before because she wasn’t in the country, but now she’s back, so you can try again.”
“I’ll give it a go.” Ye Fei quickly pulled out his newly bought phone and dialed.
Ring.
Ring.
Ring.
After a few seconds, there was a click.
“Did she hang up?” Ye Fei scratched his head in puzzlement, but didn’t dwell on it. He said to Yang Tianming, “Thanks, Yangzi. Can you send the live tracking coordinates to my phone?”
“No problem, Brother Fei.” Yang Tianming nodded. “I’ll set up a server, stream the coordinates in real time, and give you a link. You can check her location through the site.”
“A rough location?”
“Yes, Brother Fei. I can’t guarantee she doesn’t know counter-surveillance. If she does, she might mask her real coordinates, use proxies to connect to base stations.”
“Alright.” Ye Fei patted his shoulder and smiled, “Yangzi, I’ll cover your medical bills. Call me when you’re discharged.”
“Brother Fei, but—”
Before he could finish, Ye Fei waved and left.
Just as he stepped out the hospital door, his phone rang again.
“Hello?”
“Hey, little brother, are you busy?” It was Chen Yu’s voice.
Ye Fei rubbed his head; he’d nearly forgotten about this woman. He replied, “Not busy. What’s up?”
“No. 12 Anchang Road, Cat’s Purr Café. I’m waiting for you.”
Chen Yu ended the call after saying that.
Ye Fei couldn’t figure out what she was up to, but didn’t refuse. He hailed a cab and gave the address.
Inside the café.
Chen Yu and Chen Bozhong sat by the window, waiting for Ye Fei.
Beside them was the old steward, Uncle Fu, hunched over.
Ye Fei walked up, greeted them, nodded, and sat down with a smile. “Master Chen, calling me over in such a hurry—has our plan moved up?”
“Mr. Ye, sorry to take up your time,” Chen Bozhong smiled warmly at Ye Fei. “Here’s the thing: a big figure recently arrived in Hangzhou. His name is Li Changgong, an old friend of mine. He heard about your situation a few days ago and wants to meet you.”
“Li Changgong?” Ye Fei raised an eyebrow, touching his chin. “That name sounds familiar.”
“He’s a wealthy businessman from another province, supposedly from the same hometown as Situ Feng, president of the Tenglong Chamber of Commerce. When he was young, he had some dealings with my second uncle. This time he came to Hangzhou because he heard about the recent incident at the villa, and wants to find a chance to collaborate with my second uncle again,” Chen Yu took a sip of coffee and smiled. “To put it bluntly, he’s just hoping to add some icing on the cake.”
“That’s right. Li Changgong is a real businessman. If you can win him over, he could help tie the hands of the Tenglong Chamber, making it harder for them to acquire Wanggu Group,” Chen Bozhong added.
“Oh?” Ye Fei had initially wanted to refuse—he didn’t know this Li Changgong, so what was there to discuss? But Chen Bozhong’s words piqued his interest.
Tying up the Tenglong Chamber’s hands would indirectly help his senior sister.
This was intriguing.
“Alright, no harm in meeting him.” Ye Fei didn’t refuse, but asked, “But I’d like to know why he wants to see me. Is it… because I’m handsome?”
“Well…” Chen Bozhong was a bit embarrassed.
Uncle Fu hurriedly explained, “Mr. Ye, here’s the thing. Li Changgong is an antiques enthusiast. His business deals with antiques and jade. There’s a private antique appreciation event in Hangzhou soon, and a few imperial treasures will be auctioned—said to be imbued with fortune, bringing blessings to the buyer’s descendants. He’s unsure about their authenticity, so he wants you to help him take a look.”
“Take a look?” Ye Fei touched his chin. That was a reasonable request.
Besides, maybe he’d get lucky like last time with the Kirin Imperial Seal.
Fortune was mysterious, but Ye Fei knew well that it truly influenced a person’s fate.
“So Mr. Ye agrees?”
Ye Fei nodded.
“Yu’er, go with Mr. Ye,” Chen Bozhong said with a smile. “You can greet your Uncle Li for me.”
Chen Yu was happy to oblige. After leaving the café with Ye Fei, a Bentley Continental was parked at the entrance—Chen Bozhong’s old car, worth five or six million.
