Chapter 118: Wang Fang
Based on the location provided by Yang Tianming, Wang Fang is currently hiding in a guesthouse in the southern suburbs. Ye Fei is a new face at the company, and since he has not yet received his first paycheck, Wang Fang does not recognize him.
"Excuse me, I'm looking for someone. Is that possible?"
It was already ten o'clock at night. The receptionist, who had been dozing off, was jolted awake by Ye Fei's voice.
"Who are you looking for?"
Ye Fei offered an apologetic smile. "I'm looking for a woman with the surname Wang. She's my girlfriend."
The receptionist gave a disdainful laugh. "That lady is extremely wealthy. The value of the clothes she’s wearing alone could buy a house in the Imperial Capital, you understand?"
Chen Yu stepped forward, raising an eyebrow at the receptionist. "Well, take a look at me. How much do you think my outfit is worth?"
The receptionist glanced at her, then back at Ye Fei, and said snappishly, "It looks very expensive, but that lady has given strict instructions: tell anyone looking for her that she isn't here. I’m only telling you this much because you claim to be her boyfriend."
Confirmed that she was indeed here, Chen Yu tossed a bank card onto the counter with an air of immense wealth. "Get your manager out here. I want to buy your guesthouse."
...
"Big sister, you can't just spend money like that even if you have it!"
Ye Fei's eyes widened. This woman must have forgotten her current situation.
"Hey, sis, let me remind you—you don't have the funds for this kind of purchase right now," Ye Fei whispered in her ear.
But Chen Yu remained unfazed, maintaining her haughty demeanor. "Buy it!" Her tone held not a hint of hesitation.
Ye Fei, on the other hand, was growing anxious. Even an ordinary guesthouse in Hangzhou would be worth at least ten million; what were they going to buy it with? Pure bravado?
"What are you waiting for? Get the manager out here!"
The receptionist dared not delay, fearing she might offend a powerful person, and scrambled up the stairs.
Ye Fei grabbed Chen Yu. "Sis, how could you possibly afford this? This place must be worth at least twenty million."
She chuckled softly. "Little brother, haven't you heard that a starved camel is still bigger than a horse? Even at my worst, I'm still a wealthy heiress."
Chen Yu cast a seductive look at Ye Fei, looking utterly charming.
Her curvaceous figure appeared even more alluring in the dim, ambiguous lighting, and Ye Fei found it impossible to look away.
She breathed softly into his ear. "When I asked you to come earlier, you made all sorts of excuses. Can't handle it now? How about we get a room?"
Her soft hands rested on his back, causing his entire body to tense up as his hormones spiked.
"Who is it that wants to buy my guesthouse?"
A man's voice broke the silence. Chen Yu ceased her provocative gestures, shot Ye Fei a "just you wait" look, and turned around with a smile. "Hello, it's me. Could you please sell this guesthouse to me?"
Upon seeing Chen Yu, the owner's eyes lit up. This girl was stunningly beautiful, and her figure was one in a million.
"If you come with me, what’s a little guesthouse?" The owner leered at Chen Yu, practically ready to pounce.
Noticing the man standing next to her, the owner's expression turned icy. "And who are you, brother? What are you doing here?"
Chen Yu linked her arm with Ye Fei’s, pressing her entire body against him, and said with a delicate, affected voice, "This is my husband."
The owner scoffed. Seeing Ye Fei’s slender, unimpressive build and the aura of poverty radiating from him, the owner didn't bother hiding his disdain.
"The guesthouse is not for sale. You two, get lost."
As the owner turned to leave, Ye Fei suddenly called out, "Zhou Botong?"
The owner stopped dead in his tracks. He turned back and asked, "You know me? Who are you?"
Of course he didn't really know him; Ye Fei had simply looked up the owner's background on the way over—he was nothing more than a mediocre, lecherous simpleton.
"Manager Zhou, you really have a short memory. I am your..." Ye Fei paused deliberately, slowly walking up to the owner, and suddenly channeled his spiritual energy, freezing the man in place.
It had to be said, the owner was a man who navigated both the underworld and the legitimate world, and his vigilance was higher than anyone's. Ye Fei hadn't had a chance to get close to him earlier.
"What happened to him? You didn't just freeze him, did you?" Chen Yu looked terrified. Even though she had grown accustomed to Ye Fei's various abilities over the past few days, the idea of "freezing" someone still held a sense of sacred dread for her.
"Of course I froze him. What did you think I was doing? This move is called the 'Sunflower Pointing Technique.' Impressive, right?"
Chen Yu smiled faintly. This kid never acted serious; she shouldn't have expected him to say anything proper.
The receptionist, having witnessed this, was paralyzed with fear and didn't dare to speak or even breathe loudly.
"Alright, take us to Wang Fang. Hurry up; I'm not sure your boss can hold out for an hour." With that, Ye Fei grabbed the receptionist and headed upstairs.
At the door of the room at the far end of the second floor, the receptionist stopped. "This is it. Wang has rented out this entire row."
Ye Fei’s expression turned grim. This woman had some nerve, taking his senior sister's money and living it up here.
Chen Yu knocked on the door, and a roar came from inside: "Get lost! Don't disturb me!"
Ye Fei held his breath, listening intently to the sounds from inside. He smiled to himself; the intermittent gasping coming from the room made one’s skin crawl.
"What do you hear?" Chen Yu asked curiously.
Ye Fei kept his eyes on her and whispered, "Let's not disturb their intimate moment. Let's wait a bit before going in."
Chen Yu’s face turned bright red. She pouted, "You're so bad! How can you just say anything that comes to mind? Oh my~"
That delicate, soft cry struck Ye Fei’s heart, and he quickly turned away, fearing he might lose control of his internal surging energy.
After a long while, the gasping inside subsided, and Ye Fei signaled for the receptionist to open the door.
The receptionist tremblingly unlocked the door and vanished into the hallway.
The room featured typical southern water-town décor, and an unmistakable, humid atmosphere wafted out.
"Miss Wang, your desires are truly insatiable!"
Seeing the two young, immature-looking men inside, Ye Fei couldn't help but laugh. He had wondered if Wang Fang had some grand scheme for running off with the money, but was it just to sleep with men?
Upon seeing Ye Fei, Wang Fang shrieked indignantly, "Who are you? Don't you know that trespassing is against the law?"
"And—isn't it against the law to steal someone else's money?" Ye Fei retorted, every word sharp. Thinking of the suffering his senior sister had endured because of this woman, he had no intention of showing her any kindness.
"Who are you? Who are you two exactly?" Wang Fang was on the verge of a breakdown, pointing at them and screaming, which left the two gigolos by her side at a total loss.
Ye Fei picked up some clothes and tossed them over. "Get out now. I'm afraid you won't be getting paid today!"
