Xing Yue had often mentioned a name back in the day—Chen Bo. She claimed this man had seen so much of the world that his ability to judge people was unparalleled, and as it turned out, she was right.

Chen Bo suddenly realized that the young man before him was no mere bodyguard, but a mysterious and unfathomable expert.

"What is your relationship with Xing Yue?" Chen Bo bowed slightly. For some reason, every time he spoke to Ye Fei, he found himself leaning forward instinctively. Though he maintained the proper etiquette, Ye Fei remained mindful of his master’s teachings: always show respect to martial artists older than oneself.

Ye Fei stepped back and returned the gesture. "Uncle Chen Bo, there is no need for such formalities. While I may be more skilled than you, I am much younger; please, do not embarrass me."

As the two exchanged courtesies, the Sect Leader was infuriated by a remark from Bai Yaoyao. He snatched up his sword and charged straight at Ye Fei. "We shall see if my position as Sect Leader was earned through connections or skill!"

Although the swordsmanship of the Beilin Sect was sharp, the Sect Leader’s speed was mediocre; he had clearly failed to grasp the core essence of the art.

Ye Fei pushed Bai Yaoyao aside. "Senior Sister, let me show you your master’s swordsmanship." He grabbed a wooden staff from the side and began to whirl it.

The Sect Leader knew full well that if his sword were defeated by Ye Fei’s staff, word would spread, and there would no longer be a place for him in the martial arts world of China. He gripped his sword tightly, glaring at Ye Fei with a hatred so deep he wished he could devour him whole.

The battle for the Sect Leader’s dignity began. Taking a deep breath, he charged forward, sword raised.

Ye Fei sneered, standing his ground as he channeled his inner energy.

A ball of blue flame flickered within the shop, accompanied by a flash of light. The sword in the Sect Leader’s hand simply vanished into thin air.

"What the—!"

Bai Yaoyao was stunned. That was the weapon of a sect leader—even at its worst, it was a precious artifact—yet it had been shattered just like that!

"Junior Brother, your cultivation must be even higher than Master's, right?" Bai Yaoyao’s mouth remained agape as she stared at the scene, unsure of how to react.

Nearby, Chen Bo felt his heart sink. His assessment had been correct; Ye Fei had actually shattered a precious sword in an instant. Could it be that Ye Fei’s spiritual energy had long since transcended the boundaries of an ordinary person?

Spiritual energy was divided into three stages. The first was that of an ordinary person, where one merely used energy to augment their techniques without any protective aura around the body.

The second stage was that of a "Spirit Practitioner," where the body was encased in a protective aura that appeared as a faint blue flame to the eyes of powerful martial artists. Clearly, Ye Fei was at this level.

The third stage was that of a "Superior," where the spiritual energy not only coated the exterior of the body but also surged within the blood itself.

Chen Bo observed Ye Fei’s capabilities. He couldn't be certain if Ye Fei was in the second or third stage, but he was undoubtedly somewhere between the two. In Chen Bo’s eyes, Ye Fei was either a Spirit Practitioner or a Superior.

It was better not to provoke an expert of this caliber. If one could win him over, it would be a blessing for the sect, but the Sect Leader was being foolish, insisting on a fight to the death.

"You... you actually shattered my sword! I’ll kill you for this!" The Sect Leader’s face was deathly pale, his expression bordering on madness.

The other master could no longer stand by. With a single palm strike, he knocked the Sect Leader unconscious to the ground.

The two masters looked at each other, and Chen Bo spoke first. "I apologize for the trouble. With the Sect Leader incapacitated, I shall succeed him as the new leader."

Ye Fei was shocked; Chen Bo was no mere commoner, but someone who had been waiting for his moment.

Bai Yaoyao clapped in encouragement. "Well done! Uncle Chen Bo, you’re amazing! Uncle, could you please just let me go?"

Chen Bo’s eyes flickered. The girl certainly knew how to pick her timing. His previously gentle gaze turned cold. "My apologies, but we have a prior agreement. You must come with us, Miss Bai."

Bai Yaoyao quickly hid behind Ye Fei and whispered, "Junior Brother, I’m your Third Senior Sister—you can’t just stand by and watch me die! I’d rather die than marry that hoodlum."

Ye Fei snapped his fingers, pulled Bai Yaoyao close, and said earnestly, "Will you marry me instead? If you marry me, you won’t have to marry the young master of the Liu family."

Seeing the sincerity in Ye Fei’s eyes, Bai Yaoyao was momentarily lost. After all, Ye Fei was handsome and possessed overwhelming martial prowess—this was the kind of man one rarely encountered.

"Fine, I’ll marry you!"

Ye Fei smiled at Chen Bo. "My apologies, but this is my fiancée. You cannot take her."

Their impromptu performance left Chen Bo at a loss. He no longer had any legitimate reason to take Bai Yaoyao. However, the Beilin Sect had already taken money from the Liu family; if they failed to deliver, the debt would eventually be settled on the sect itself.

Ye Fei draped an arm around Bai Yaoyao and turned to leave, tossing back a final remark: "We’ll be going now. Carry on with your business."

Chen Bo stood awkwardly in place, unsure whether to stay or pursue. The other master asked, "Are we still chasing them?"

"No. We have no chance of winning. We’d only end up throwing our lives away."

As Bai Yaoyao followed Ye Fei to a fork in the road, she finally couldn't help but ask, "Ye Fei, did you really mean it? Do you want to marry me?"

"Third Senior Sister, did a donkey kick you in the head? I had to help you out of that situation. If I hadn't, you would have been dragged away by the Beilin Sect by now!" Ye Fei glared at his exasperating senior sister.

Suddenly, he looked down and saw a glimpse of Bai Yaoyao's cleavage. He quickly turned his head away. "Can you not dress properly?"

Bai Yaoyao looked down and realized her neckline was indeed a bit low. She said embarrassedly, "Oh, just don't look then! You’re staring right at it."

Ye Fei held back a nosebleed, desperately suppressing it with his inner energy. He had to admit, this actress had a stunning figure.

"Am I the one looking? It’s just... there!" Ye Fei argued weakly, quickly finding a car. "Let’s go. We need to get back."

Sitting in the passenger seat, Bai Yaoyao kept her head down, looking somewhat dejected. Every time Ye Fei turned his head, he was met with her ample bosom.

He kept his head turned away, grumbling, "I... what is wrong with you?"

"I was just thinking... is it that you’re not capable? Is that why you don't like looking at my body? Let me tell you, every man I've met has been interested in me, but you seem completely indifferent!" Bai Yaoyao said, looking genuinely contemplative.

Ye Fei pulled the car over, leaned over, and pressed himself right against her. A tingling sensation surged through his entire body. He felt as if he were drifting in a sea of tenderness, his mind spinning.

Their eyes met, and Ye Fei leaned in, planting a kiss on her lips, drawing deeply from her.
