Chapter 56: You Lunatic
23 Liberation Road, Number 23.
This was the outskirts of Hangzhou.
At a glance, all one could see were the abandoned, unfinished buildings left behind after developers fled, even the streetlights long since fallen into disrepair.
Ye Fei walked alone down the silent street, his eyes glinting coldly in the moonlight, his entire being exuding a chill as if he were a completely different person.
He continued on until he stepped into the only derelict factory with a faint light still shining—
Click.
A blinding searchlight locked onto him.
“You really are a stray dog with guts!”
“I thought you wouldn’t have the nerve to show up!”
A familiar voice rang out.
Ye Fei narrowed his eyes, unafraid as he stared into the light, looking straight ahead.
On the second-floor platform of an unfinished building—
Zhang Tianfeng, in a suit, stood above looking down at Ye Fei, his face twisted in mockery.
Beside him sat an old, broken chair, and on it, Lin Qiqing—her eyes covered, hands and feet bound, forced to wear a provocative flight attendant’s uniform.
Sensing Ye Fei’s arrival, she struggled desperately, making muffled cries into the darkness before her.
No one else was present.
“Look around—”
“Do you like the graveyard I picked for you?”
Zhang Tianfeng sneered even more as Ye Fei paused in silence.
“Let my senior sister go.”
“You get one chance.”
Seeing that his senior sister was unharmed, Ye Fei snapped back to his senses and spoke coldly to Zhang Tianfeng.
“Oh?”
“You’re giving me a chance?”
“Hahahaha…”
Zhang Tianfeng only laughed, as if he’d heard the most ridiculous joke in the world. He snapped his fingers.
Whoosh!
In an instant—
A dark figure appeared behind Ye Fei, bringing with it a chilling wind, striking downwards.
Bang!
Ye Fei spun around, catching the attacker one-handed.
A tense standoff.
“It’s you?”
Recognizing the man, Ye Fei’s gaze turned icy.
It was A’Gui, the very man whose arm Ye Fei had broken during that incident at the Royal KTV!
A’Gui, seeing Ye Fei recognize him, said nothing; he only grinned viciously, a murderous glint in his eyes.
“If it’s just the two of you—”
“Then you’re underestimating me.”
Ye Fei sneered, raising his hand to seize A’Gui’s shoulder.
“You, a defeated cur, dare raise a hand to me?”
If he gripped down, he could surely crush the man’s shoulder!
But—
“You’d better think twice before making a move.”
Ye Fei’s wrist froze.
Above him.
Zhang Tianfeng had moved behind Lin Qiqing; at some point, a sharp dagger had appeared in his hand, pressed against her throat.
“Don’t you dare!”
Ye Fei’s face was dark, his killing intent fierce.
“You think I brought you here for nothing?” Zhang Tianfeng licked his lips, a wild look in his eyes. “A mutt like you, ruining my plans time and again, did you really think I’d let you go?”
“Didn’t you think you were tough?”
“Go ahead and try something, and I’ll slice her face open!”
“Come on, just try it and see!”
With that, the blade flashed.
Rip.
Lin Qiqing’s blindfold was sliced away.
Her face beneath was red-eyed, her beautiful gaze filled with terror.
“Senior sister!”
“It’s me!”
“Don’t be afraid!”
Ye Fei’s face filled with pain as he shouted.
“Ye… Ye Fei… Why did you come? Go… get out!!”
Lin Qiqing cried out in panic, struggling even harder.
“Lin Qiqing, Lin Qiqing, does your little junior mean that much to you?” Zhang Tianfeng sneered, his voice laced with jealousy. “In that case, tonight I’ll let you be a pair of doomed lovers! Isn’t that wonderful?”
“A’Gui, beat him!”
“Hit him hard!”
“Don’t stop until he’s dead!”
Ye Fei had barely opened his mouth before a heavy kick struck him from behind.
By instinct, he wanted to dodge and counter, but his eyes caught Zhang Tianfeng’s knife pressed closer to Lin Qiqing’s face. Gritting his teeth, he forced himself to hold still.
Bang!
A’Gui’s strength was brutal.
Even with Ye Fei’s solid footing, he was sent flying three meters, crashing heavily to the ground.
For A’Gui, who had once lost to Ye Fei, there was only one goal tonight: revenge, to release the humiliation of his recent defeat onto this smaller, slighter opponent.
As for what Ye Fei had said to him that night at the Royal KTV, A’Gui had long since forgotten.
He knew that everyone in this world had a weakness.
Ye Fei’s weakness was now in his enemy’s hands.
That meant only one outcome for him: death.
“Not cruel enough!”
“Still not cruel enough!”
“Break his legs for me!”
Seeing Ye Fei sent flying, Zhang Tianfeng’s eyes grew wild. Scenes of humiliation from that night flashed through his mind as he howled at A’Gui again.
A’Gui wasn’t in a rush. He stepped up to Ye Fei, grabbed him by the head, said nothing, just gave a cold smile, and suddenly stomped with all his strength on Ye Fei’s legs.
“Hiss!”
Ye Fei sucked in a sharp breath.
The sound of bones breaking rang out.
“Ye Fei!”
“No!!”
At this, tears finally slid from the corners of Lin Qiqing’s eyes.
Her eyes and nose were flushed red.
“Cry, scream for me, louder!” Zhang Tianfeng pressed his face to Lin Qiqing’s ear, laughing cruelly. “Blame only this useless mutt! If I’d drugged you that night, everything would’ve been solved, wouldn’t it?”
“You… you madman…” Lin Qiqing gritted her teeth, furious at her own helplessness in the face of such evil.
But—
A’Gui had no intention of holding back.
Crack.
Another bone snapped.
This time, Ye Fei made no sound.
Then came a relentless series of punches and kicks, raining down on his body.
At the hunter school, A’Gui had earned the nickname “Mad Dog”—not one he’d chosen, but one given by his fellow trainees.
Every time he found a target or enemy, he’d latch on like a lunatic, refusing to let go until he’d tortured his prey to death, only then finding satisfaction.
And at this moment, Ye Fei was his prey.
At last—
After more than ten minutes.
Ye Fei lay sprawled on the ground, his face battered and swollen, unable to move at all.
Even his breathing was so faint it was barely audible.
His ribs, his legs, his arms—every bone in his body had taken A’Gui’s merciless blows.
