Chapter 110: Offering You an Opportunity
The crowd gathered around, and upon seeing Ye Fei’s thin and weak appearance, they immediately felt that the burly black man had insulted their gang’s dignity.
Being pinned to the ground and beaten by this scrawny kid was nothing short of a personal humiliation!
“I don’t even know how to face Brother Long after this. We got beaten up by such a reckless punk. If word gets out, won’t we be laughed at?”
“This kid looks weak and sickly. If he managed to knock us down, I swear I’d rather just kill myself! I don’t have the face to live in this world anymore.”
The burly black man’s face turned pale. Just moments ago, he had been thrown aside by a powerful force, and recalling it still sent chills down his spine. He wanted to explain, but seeing the mocking expressions around him, he sneered, “If you think he’s no match, then try and take him on.”
Hearing this, Ye Fei shouted at the black man, “You really learn from your mistakes. I like people like you!”
The black man quickly distanced himself, “Who the hell asked you to like me? Get lost!”
The gang members didn’t waste time arguing and brandished the weapons they held. As expected from thugs in the antique market, they carried all sorts of classical weapons—long spears, short halberds, and more, giving off an air of authority.
But Ye Fei was already bored with these weapons. His master used to throw a different weapon at him every few days and test his reflexes. As a result, Ye Fei was adept at handling all kinds of arms.
Of course, these street thugs lacked spiritual energy to empower their weapons, so the weapons couldn’t reach their full potential.
As Ye Fei scanned the weapons, he noticed one of them surrounded by a considerable aura of spiritual energy.
The fool wielding it had no idea about it and was making a fierce face, as if trying to intimidate Ye Fei by expression alone.
“Let’s have a one-on-one fight. If you lose, hand over your weapon to me. If I lose, you can do whatever you want to me!”
...
Silence fell over the crowd.
Street thugs always relied on numbers to win fights; there was no such thing as a fair duel.
Ye Fei clicked his tongue, chuckling lightly. “Don’t be nervous, I’m just joking. Do you really think I’d duel all of you?” He circled a few steps before snapping his fingers. “I know you all want to gang up on me, so here’s your chance—come all at once!”
The thugs’ last shred of pride was instantly ignited. “Get him! Beat this son of a bitch to death!”
Ye Fei sneered, clenching his fists. Lately, he wasn’t eager to get physical, so he decided to use his spiritual energy to end things with one sweep.
Whoosh!
Ah—
Screams echoed.
The burly black man hoped someone would avenge him, but no one expected Ye Fei to finish it with a single move.
“Boss, this guy’s no ordinary person. He’s probably here to cause trouble. Should we go back and get Brother Long?”
The black man rolled his eyes. Brother Long was just a middleman with no martial arts skills—bringing him here would be a death sentence.
Near the antique market entrance, a short, stout man carrying a bright purple clay teapot approached slowly.
Originally, he was just passing the time, expecting to watch a fight for entertainment, but the scene was a mess—all his men lay groaning on the ground, except for one young man standing in the center, spinning a spear in his hand.
“Who the hell are you? Dare to cause trouble in our territory? You don’t want to live, do you?”
Ye Fei withdrew the spiritual energy from the spear.
Immediately, his body underwent a dramatic transformation—his blood vessels cleared, all his acupoints unblocked. It seemed he had made another breakthrough today; he might just break through the third major level!
“Who am I? You’re asking me?” Ye Fei pointed at himself, feigning innocence.
“Yeah, I’m asking if you’re the one who hurt these guys.”
Ye Fei shrugged and glanced around, laughing lightly. “You don’t really think that fat black guy over there is capable, do you?”
Brother Long sneered, his fleshy face twitching. He ordered the bodyguards nearby, “Break their hands and feet. Make an example for the boys.”
The bodyguards hesitated—not because they didn’t want to fight, but because dealing with someone who could knock out all of them in an instant was no joke.
They were hired muscle, and their lives came first.
“Come on! What are you waiting for?” Brother Long shouted impatiently, then settled into a rocking chair, leisurely pulling out his phone to watch a movie.
Ye Fei despised this kind of pretentious cowardice. He frowned slightly and curled his fingers. “Start moving. Stop standing there! Getting a few injuries will be good for you.”
Hearing that, the bodyguards rushed forward.
Ye Fei stood firm, tilting his head slightly to the right. A flying kick swept through five men at once.
Brother Long only had five bodyguards!
...
Brother Long’s teapot hung suspended in the air as Ye Fei stepped forward and took the petite purple clay pot, sighing softly. “If you’re going to hire bodyguards, hire ones who can actually handle things.”
Brother Long’s face flushed with embarrassment. He hurriedly apologized, “Sorry, I didn’t realize who you were. Please don’t take it personally.”
Ye Fei didn’t want to trouble these local bosses. He pulled out a number. “Have you seen this number? Or received a call from it? Recently, I heard Old Zhou got a delicate little cage. Do you know anything about that?”
Brother Long slapped his thigh eagerly. “Yes, I know! We saw that cage before. It’s just a cleverly made little cage, finely crafted but nothing special among antiques.
“But when it got to Old Zhou’s hands, it started to emit a purple aura!”
It seemed someone was targeting the Jiangnan Zhou family!
“When was the last time you saw that cage?”
Brother Long looked surprised and dodged the question. “Who do you think consecrated that cage? Purple aura flowing eastward—if I could do that for all antiques, I’d be rich!”
Ye Fei studied Brother Long’s fleshy face. He looked fierce but showed no sign of martial arts training—just a businessman’s mind.
“Do I have to answer you?” Ye Fei asked coldly, clearly annoyed.
Brother Long quickly smiled, “Sorry, I overstepped. The last time I saw it was a month ago at the antique market. Old Li’s family has some delicate little things—that’s where the cage is.”
At Old Li’s stall in the market, Ye Fei planned to head home. No need to bother Yang Tianming anymore.
“Hey, brother, what martial art did you just use? It looks kind of familiar.”
