Chapter 48: Do Me a Favor!
Just as Ye Fei stepped out of the hospital, a familiar voice rang in his ears.
"It's you?"
"What are you doing here?"
In front of him appeared a face pure and enchanting, with jet-black hair, delicate features, and a complexion as fine as a porcelain doll.
"Miss, do you know me?" Ye Fei sized her up and down, puzzled.
"You..."
"You don't remember me?"
"I'm Li Yueyao!"
The beauty before him looked at him with a faint trace of grievance.
"Oh, it's you." Ye Fei scratched his nose, finally recalling her.
Li Yueyao—he had met her only twice. The first time was on a plane. The second, at Sun Shiyun's wedding. On both occasions, she had mocked Ye Fei in public, so his first impression of her was far from favorable—at best, indifferent.
Though she was indeed beautiful, with a kind of girl-next-door appeal, her temper left much to be desired.
"Do you need something?"
"If not, please step aside."
"I have other matters to attend to," Ye Fei said, showing no trace of friendliness.
Normally, he might have been in the mood to tease this woman, but now, with the incident of Yang Tianming's beating weighing on him, he was still suppressing his anger.
"You..."
"Why are you so fierce?" Li Yueyao shrank back, snorted coldly, and said, "I didn’t expect to run into you here. I have something to discuss with you. Are you free? Let me first visit my friend inside, then we can find a café to talk."
"I’m not free." Ye Fei turned to leave.
"Hey! Stop right there!" Li Yueyao rushed forward, spreading her arms to block his way. Gritting her teeth, she said, "You heartless man! Do you have any idea how much Shiyun has suffered because of your divorce letter? And yet you live so carefreely! Have you ever considered her feelings?"
Sun Shiyun? Suffering?
Ye Fei let out a scornful laugh, fixing his gaze on the girl before him. "Let me warn you, how Sun Shiyun lives now is no longer any of my business. I divorced her. At this moment, my friend is seriously injured and still lying in the hospital. I’m going to settle the score for him. If you don’t move aside, you’ll bear the consequences!"
"You..." Li Yueyao was about to retort when she suddenly paused, a look of surprise crossing her face. "Wait, what did you just say? Your friend is seriously injured? Is your friend named Yang Tianming?"
Ye Fei frowned at her words and asked, "You know him?"
"He’s my university classmate!" Li Yueyao replied angrily. "So you two know each other! Why didn’t you say so earlier? I came to visit him, too! What did you just say? You’re going to help him get revenge? Do you even know who hurt him?"
"That was the son of the president of Tenglong Chamber of Commerce! His own son!"
"And you think you can just go cause trouble for him?"
"Hey! Don’t be reckless!"
Ye Fei kept walking, unbothered, while Li Yueyao hurried after him.
"Stop right there!"
"Ye Fei! That’s your name, right?"
"If you barge in just like that, you’ll make a huge scene!"
"You might not even get out in one piece!"
"I know Situ Ye. I know how many people they have tonight!"
"I can get you into the private room!"
At these words, Ye Fei paused, glancing back at Li Yueyao.
"Changed your mind?" she panted. "I’m telling the truth. Situ Ye invited a crowd of local rich kids tonight, and brought plenty of muscle, all to save face. If you just barge in, you’ll be made an example of, a warning to others!"
"I can get you inside and even cover for you, but you have to do me a favor. Let’s make a fair trade, all right?"
Ye Fei looked at her with interest and smiled. "A fair trade? Interesting. Go on, let’s hear this ‘favor’."
"Your senior, isn’t she the chairwoman of Eternal Group? I want her help to invest in a project for our university!"
Seeing Ye Fei finally take the bait, Li Yueyao’s smile blossomed with charm. "It’s a simple project—sponsoring top students to study at famous overseas universities, covering tuition and living expenses. With your senior’s reputation and resources, it should be no problem, right?"
"Sponsorship? For the university?" Ye Fei looked at her strangely. "Wait... You can’t be a university lecturer, can you?"
Li Yueyao straightened her back, folded her arms, and snorted lightly, "Why not? I’m a lecturer at Hangzhou’s top university!"
Recalling her behavior on the plane, Ye Fei rubbed his nose and said, "Miss, to be honest, my senior won’t help you. Don’t bother planning for it. And I don’t need your help to deal with Situ Ye."
With his skills, it didn’t matter how many people were there.
He could knock them all down just the same.
"You... Why won’t you listen?" Li Yueyao grabbed Ye Fei, slammed him against the wall, and threatened, "If you help me, I’ll tell you a secret!"
"What secret?" Ye Fei asked.
"It’s about Sun..." Li Yueyao almost blurted it out, but caught herself in time and glared at him. "Are you crazy? Trying to trick me?"
"Enough, time is running out. If you keep blocking me, don’t blame me for getting rough." Ye Fei pressed her hand aside, smiling, "I’m not known for being gentle, as you saw at the Sun family’s engagement banquet."
"You..." Li Yueyao gritted her teeth. "Forget it! I don’t need your help! You don’t have a car, do you? I’ll drive you there! The Hornet Bar is miles from here! But on one condition: you have to help me teach someone a lesson! He’s at the Hornet Bar too!"
"Who do you want me to teach a lesson?" Ye Fei was interested now; after all, this was easy for him.
The request she’d made earlier was clearly unrealistic.
His senior, Lin Qiqing, was already in deep trouble herself—an investment now? Hardly.
She’d be more likely to scold him than help.
"You’ll know when we get there!" Li Yueyao grabbed Ye Fei’s arm without another word, dragging him to the parking lot and into a pink BMW MINI.
Twenty minutes later.
Hornet Bar.
It was one of the most popular bars in Hangzhou over the past two years, covering nearly a thousand square meters. It was frequented by countless wealthy patrons, with waves of rich heirs coming and going. Rumor had it that the bar was funded by the illegitimate son of Hangzhou’s richest man, which explained its high status on Bar Street.
Normally, Ye Fei had little interest in such flashy places.
But tonight, he came openly, looking for trouble.
"Once we’re inside, watch for my signal. Don’t act recklessly," Li Yueyao said after parking. "This gathering might seem like fun, but it’s really a way for everyone to size each other up. All the guests are wealthy heirs from prominent families, and they’ve brought plenty of backup. When I give you the chance, go straight for Situ Ye!"
With that, she waved her little fist in the air.
