Song Qi watched the radiance of the giant sword grow ever brighter, and a deep unease rose within him.

Forcing that dread down, he launched another attack at Demon Night, hoping to interrupt his technique.

“Hmph. Naive.”

Seeing Song Qi rush in, Demon Night gave a disdainful smile. Song Qi’s strikes were still fierce, but he had already lost his composure.

As Song Qi drew nearer, the giant sword’s blinding glow erupted in a single instant, and then the blade itself dimmed.

Song Qi was overjoyed, ready to deliver a lethal blow to Demon Night, when he suddenly found that he could not move. Some indescribable force had locked his feet in place.

Demon Night looked at Song Qi standing not far away and let out a soft snort. The giant sword plunged downward like lightning, cleaving straight toward Song Qi’s crown.

Terror flashed through Song Qi’s heart. He poured out every ounce of his strength, yet still could not budge an inch. Beads of sweat rolled down his forehead, and with a dark expression he gritted his teeth.

Then his domain burst apart.

The two men, standing at the very heart of the explosion, bore the brunt of it and were sent flying by the self-destructing domain.

Song Qi struggled to his feet and spat out a mouthful of blood. Wiping the corner of his mouth, he looked at the motionless Demon Night in the distance and burst into laughter.

“Demon Night, oh Demon Night. I still outplayed you! Hahaha! You are destined to be trodden beneath my feet!”

Blood froth bubbled from Demon Night’s mouth as he coughed. He strained to crawl twice, but still could not manage to rise.

Song Qi gave him a mocking sneer. “Oh? Still alive? No matter. I’ll send you on your way right now. The Heaven-Forge Cauldron is mine! Hahaha!”

Demon Night had already been wounded by Red Refinement and had not yet recovered. Now, with Song Qi’s domain self-detonating against him, the blow only deepened his injuries.

He put away the giant sword and drew Blood-Crying into his hand. Facing Song Qi’s sneer, he let out a cold snort.

“Do you truly think you have me cornered? Then come and take my life yourself. Hmph.”

Song Qi’s advancing steps faltered. “Could this Demon Night be up to something again?”

Seeing Song Qi hesitate, Demon Night finally breathed a little easier and secretly devoted all his strength to recovery, while the Heaven-Forge Cauldron desperately mended his body as well.

“What’s the matter? Afraid? I can barely even stand now. What is there for you to fear? Come kill me.”

This only made Song Qi more guarded, and he did not dare take a single step closer.

“No, something’s wrong. There must be a scheme here. My strength is not even at thirty percent of normal right now. If I rush over, I’ll die for sure. Forget it. I should heal first. After all, he is more badly hurt than I am.”

Having made up his mind, Song Qi sat down cross-legged and focused on recovering his injuries. When Demon Night saw him take a seat, he could not help but sigh in relief.

“You really aren’t coming over? Then this young master is leaving first.”

Hearing Demon Night continue to taunt him, Song Qi grew even more certain that Demon Night had no strength left to fight and must be relying on some other hidden method.

He ignored the provocation entirely. “Go ahead and curse all you like. We’ll see who laughs last.”

Seeing that Song Qi would not respond, Demon Night curved his lips and put away Blood-Crying. The two of them then devoted themselves fully to healing.

At dawn, both opened their eyes at the same time. Demon Night had already suppressed the worsening of his injuries, and his vital energy had recovered somewhat. He looked quietly at Song Qi without saying a word.

Song Qi laughed triumphantly. “Why aren’t you cursing anymore? Keep going! I’ve already recovered nearly seventy percent of my power. And you? Hahaha!”

Demon Night knew Song Qi was not lying. He rose to his feet as well, drew out Blood-Crying, and pointed it straight at Song Qi.

“Do you really think I, Demon Night, am a lamb waiting for slaughter? Then you might as well try.”

Carefully, Song Qi advanced and tested him with a probing attack. Faced with it, Demon Night threw back his head and laughed, using Blood-Crying to block the strikes.

借助 the force of Song Qi’s assault, he retreated at high speed, spread the wings behind him, and shot into the sky with all his might.

Seeing Demon Night escape by using his own attack, Song Qi’s face turned livid.

“Demon Night! You despicable coward! I will definitely kill you!”

He pursued relentlessly from behind.

As Demon Night soared upward, another search party in the distance also converged rapidly toward the area.

“He’s over there! Hurry and chase him!”

The crowd immediately gave pursuit. Among them, Liu Xin, disguised among the others, watched the fleeing figure with joy.

“Demon Night! I knew you’d be all right. Wait for me.”

She quickly followed the group and chased after him.

What Liu Xin did not know was that, hidden in the dark, a figure had been watching her all along.

Xuantiangang looked at Demon Night fleeing in the distance, then at Liu Xin mingling with the crowd, and let out a cold snort. A surge of spiritual power swept toward her.

Sensing something, Liu Xin stopped in her tracks. Her face tightened with anxiety, and she froze where she stood.
