Chapter 122: Premeditation
As evening fell, Peng Yu arrived at Yao Ye’s residence, pouring out his heart relentlessly. This time, Yao Ye listened attentively without interruption. Only when Peng Yu, along with Ling Ling, became thoroughly drunk did Yao Ye reveal what his father had said.
After Peng Yu finished his last sentence, he collapsed, clutching an empty bottle, shouting incessantly. Yao Ye shook his head and snatched the empty bottle from Peng Yu’s hand.
“Let go of me! I’m not drunk—come on, keep drinking, drink...” Peng Yu protested.
Yao Ye shook his head again, hoisted Peng Yu up in one arm, and carried him inside. Just as he tossed Peng Yu onto the bed, a figure flashed past the window.
“Who’s there?” Yao Ye sprang toward the window and leapt outside, watching the figure disappear into the distance. He pondered for a moment, glanced at Peng Yu, and then returned inside.
No sooner had he taken a few steps than another figure charged straight at him. Yao Ye raised his hand, and the two exchanged a powerful palm strike. Frowning, Yao Ye took a step back, quietly observing his visitor.
“Kid, I don’t care who you are, but I advise you not to interfere in the affairs between our two clans. Otherwise—hmph!” The visitor’s face darkened as he left without another word. Yao Ye lightly slammed his palm and reentered the house.
The black-clad man left the courtyard, heading straight for Hua Lin’s room. Seeing the stranger inside, Hua Lin quickly shut the door and hurried over.
“Big brother, how is it?” Hua Lin asked.
The black-clad man, Hua Nong, removed his night cloak, sat down, and took a sip of tea, deep in thought.
“Who could it be? I know all the younger generation of the four great families, but no one like this!” Hua Lin poured Hua Nong a glass of water, sat down, her brows furrowed as she contemplated.
“Big brother, do you think it could be someone from Yunxiao Sect?” she asked.
“That can’t be ruled out, but I know all the core disciples of Yunxiao Sect—there’s no one like this. They’re formidable, but I hope you don’t get involved. Hmph!” Hua Nong took a heavy gulp of tea, pulled Hua Lin into his arms, and gently tilted her chin with a wicked smile.
“Oh, big brother, with the situation so unclear, how can you still be in the mood for this?” Hua Lin teased.
“Don’t worry, girl. That kid’s no match for me. As long as he stays out of this, I’ll spare him. But if he dares to get involved, well, then he’s on his own,” Hua Nong said while fondling Hua Lin. She lightly pushed him away.
“Big brother, I still feel uneasy. As long as that kid lives, he’s a threat.”
“I’m not interested in them now. First, I want to savor your taste, hahaha.”
Hua Nong bent down, kissed Hua Lin’s lips, and scooped her up, carrying her toward the bed.
Dawn slowly drew back the curtain. A ray of morning sunlight streamed through the window, casting light on Peng Yu’s face. He stretched lazily, slowly opening his eyes, and saw Yao Ye sitting on a stool with his eyes closed, resting. Peng Yu walked over.
“Big brother, why aren’t you in your own room? Don’t tell me you took advantage of me when I was drunk and did something beastly!” Peng Yu clenched his arms, his face full of grievance. Yao Ye suppressed the urge to explode and approached him.
“I really regret saving you back then. Sigh. Someone tried to assassinate you last night—I drove them off. I stayed because I didn’t feel safe leaving you alone.”
Hearing Yao Ye’s words, Peng Yu gazed at him with tender affection. “Big brother, how about I pledge myself to you?”
Yao Ye shivered involuntarily and kicked Peng Yu back onto the bed. Peng Yu screamed and collapsed onto the mattress.
“Ah! Big brother, I’m yours sooner or later. Don’t let your beastly nature flare up now—I still have to go see my father!”
Blushing shyly, Peng Yu lowered his head. Yao Ye drew out the Bloodstained Blade and placed it on Peng Yu’s neck.
“Big brother, let’s talk calmly. What’s this about the sneak attack last night?”
Seeing Peng Yu’s serious expression, Yao Ye admired him and shook his head, sheathing the blade before sitting down.
“Hehe, I knew you wouldn’t kill me. Who else would warm your bed if I were gone, huh?”
Yao Ye lowered his head, sneered coldly, and tapped the table lightly. “What did you just say? I didn’t hear that.”
“I said, big brother, for eternity, unifying the martial world. My admiration for you is like...” Peng Yu began.
“Enough! Stop it!” Yao Ye interrupted.
Peng Yu quickly got off the bed and trotted over. “Big brother, you said someone tried to attack me last night. Who was it?”
“It should be someone from the Hua family. We tested each other last night—their cultivation is deep, not inferior to mine.”
“Hua Nong. It must be Hua Nong. Yesterday, he came to my family and forcibly kicked me out. He even forbade me from seeing my father.”
Yao Ye tapped the table, deep in thought. “We need to figure out a plan.”
“I’ve got it, big brother, I’ve got it!”
Yao Ye’s face darkened as he cursed under his breath. “If you’ve got it, just say it. Don’t keep me on edge.”
“Hehe!”
Peng Yu scratched his head and chuckled. “Big brother, Hua Lin dotes on her son, but he’s a good-for-nothing who spends his days idling and nights reveling. We can use her son to pressure her into submission.”
Yao Ye nodded. “That’s not a bad idea—using her son to create an opening.”
“Hahaha, see, big brother? I’m smart. I thought of this all on my own.”
Seeing Peng Yu’s smug face, Yao Ye raised his foot and kicked toward him. Peng Yu spun around and dodged.
“Hehe, big brother, that trick won’t work on me anymore!”
After speaking, Peng Yu happily ran out. “Big brother, I’m off ahead!”
Yao Ye shook his head with a smile, following after him. The two arrived at the entrance of a brothel. Peng Yu chuckled darkly and went inside.
As they entered the main hall, several women dressed provocatively surrounded them. Peng Yu grabbed two of them, laughing heartily.
“Come on, bring me good wine and food! Today, my big brother and I will really enjoy ourselves.”
They sat down at a wine table. The women poured drinks and nestled into Peng Yu’s arms. Peng Yu acted like a regular, enjoying himself, bantering flirtatiously with the women. Yao Ye frowned, drinking silently on his own.
Seeing Yao Ye’s expression, Peng Yu laughed. “You girls better take good care of my big brother. If he’s satisfied, I’ll reward you handsomely.”
The women’s faces lit up, crowding around. One woman even sat on Yao Ye’s thigh. Suddenly, Yao Ye radiated an intimidating aura, pushed the woman away, and slammed his palm hard on the table.
“Scram!”
Peng Yu hastily waved his hand, dismissing the women, and looked at Yao Ye with a sly grin.
“Big brother, you’re not still a virgin, are you?”
Yao Ye’s face flushed with embarrassment and anger. “If you keep being so carefree, I’m leaving and won’t care about you anymore!”
“Hey, don’t, don’t! Then we just wait. Peng Fei usually arrives in the afternoon.”
Yao Ye nodded. The two continued drinking quietly, waiting for Peng Fei’s arrival.
