Chapter Sixty-Seven: Recuperation in the Medicinal Bath
The next morning, as promised, Demon Night arrived and stood outside the courtyard gate. Recalling the sensual scene from yesterday, he couldn't help but burst into laughter. Hearing the commotion, Liu Xin opened the gate and saw Demon Night standing at her door, grinning foolishly. She felt puzzled.
"Honestly! Why didn't you knock when you came? Standing here and giggling—what are you thinking about?"
Demon Night quickly pretended to cough and composed himself. "Good morning, Senior Sister! Haha, it's a lovely day today—I wasn't thinking about anything!"
His face flushed instantly, and Liu Xin, seeing his expression and how poorly he lied, also broke into a happy smile.
"Were you thinking about me? Look at your dreamy eyes and how your hands are nervously tangled together. Trying to fool me? Never mind! If you want to think about me, just say it. I, your Senior Sister, can understand."
Demon Night was momentarily stunned—was this really his usual Senior Sister? Seeing her mischievous demeanor, he couldn't resist teasing her.
"Hehe, well, Senior Sister, you're sharp! You saw right through me. I was thinking about how it was when I came to find you yesterday. But, Senior Sister, you look especially beautiful today!"
Now it was Liu Xin's turn to blush shyly. "You and your glib tongue! Demon Night, I'm telling you, don't bring up yesterday again!"
"Haha, Senior Sister, I can avoid mentioning it, but as for you..." As he finished, Demon Night tapped his cheek with his phone, looking at Liu Xin expectantly.
"You little rascal, so that's your motive! Don't even think about it! If you keep this up, I'll ignore you!"
Liu Xin quickly turned away, not daring to look at Demon Night. Touching her heated cheeks, she felt both anxious and delighted.
Seeing this, Demon Night felt embarrassed to continue teasing. "Senior Sister, yesterday you asked me to bring a change of clothes—what’s that for?"
Liu Xin turned back. "Come in first, let’s talk inside." The two walked into the house, and Demon Night noticed a round bathtub at the center.
Demon Night pointed at the bathtub and looked at Liu Xin. "Senior Sister, are you really letting me bathe here?"
"Yes, this will help you recover."
Demon Night hesitated. "Isn’t this a bit fast? It’s the first time I’ve heard taking such a bath could heal my injuries!"
Liu Xin’s face darkened with frustration. "What are you thinking every day? I never realized someone so young could have such a wicked mind! If you keep daydreaming, I won’t help you!"
Demon Night scratched his head awkwardly. "Sorry, Senior Sister! I was wrong!"
Seeing his anxious expression, Liu Xin couldn’t help but laugh. "Alright! Now, meditate and calm your mind. We’ll wait for Dean Tang Ze to arrive before we proceed."
After learning of Liu Xin’s predicament and seeing her determination to protect Demon Night at any cost, Tang Ze and the others chose to accept her and help conceal the truth.
Tang Ze walked toward Liu Xin’s residence, pondering what she intended to do and how she planned to treat Demon Night. He shook his head in frustration. "Forget it, I’ll find out soon enough when I get there."
Seeing Tang Ze approaching from afar, Liu Xin ran over joyfully. "Dean, sorry to trouble you!"
Tang Ze nodded lightly. "I’m curious, too. What’s your plan, young lady?"
"Vice Dean, let me keep it a secret for now. I’ll explain everything later. Please follow me inside."
The two entered the house, and Liu Xin instructed Demon Night, "Demon Night, sit in the bathtub and remove your shirt."
Demon Night nodded at Liu Xin and the Dean, quickly took off his shirt, and sat in the half-filled bathtub. Liu Xin swiftly fetched various medicinal herbs from her inner chamber.
Tang Ze was surprised. "You’ve entered the Realm of Spiritual Communion? And formed an inner chamber? Remarkable! To achieve this without help—you truly are a genius!"
"Dean, we can discuss my situation later. For now, please use your inner energy to extract the essence from each herb and add it to the bathtub."
Tang Ze nodded and began refining the herbs with all his strength. Liu Xin, cheeks flushed with embarrassment, also entered the bathtub, pressing her hands firmly against Demon Night’s back to infuse him with energy.
Unable to contain his comfort, Demon Night let out a soft groan as waves of tingling sensation surged through him, causing his body to twist.
Liu Xin quickly reminded him, "Demon Night! Focus and stay calm, or not only will I fail to save you, I’ll suffer backlash myself!"
Hearing her, Demon Night immediately steadied himself. Liu Xin concentrated on channeling energy into Demon Night, all the while directing Tang Ze on the next steps.
"Dean, please use your vital energy to activate the medicinal water in the tub and make it boil!"
Understanding the importance, Tang Ze spared no effort in stirring the potion. Liu Xin guided the medicinal water, awakening Demon Night’s depleted potential, supplementing him with her own vital energy.
Sweat gathered on Liu Xin’s forehead, her complexion growing pale. She bit her lip, anxious as she saw no response in Demon Night’s life force, pushing herself to the limit to stimulate her energy.
Time passed slowly. Liu Xin could no longer hold on, yet refused to give up. Her energy gradually dried up, and finally she could no longer suppress the backlash—a mouthful of blood splattered onto Demon Night’s back.
Sensing something, Demon Night’s closed eyes struggled to open.
"Demon Night, listen to me—I’m fine, just need a rest. Now focus all your power and absorb the medicinal water!"
Watching Demon Night stabilize, Liu Xin supported herself on the edge of the tub, pressing her chest, and stepped out, sitting down on the floor.
