Chapter Thirty-Three: Demon Night vs. Red Eyes
Seeing Red Eyes arrogantly provoking them, Demon Night could no longer restrain himself and was about to make a move. Peng Lei glanced at Demon Night and grabbed his arm tightly, whispering, “Demon Night, don’t act impulsively! We shouldn’t rush in right now. Our main goal is to escape first. They have the numbers. Let the Fire Dance Academy try their luck and gauge the enemy’s strength!”
“What’s wrong? With courage like that, you dare to play the hero? Come on, all of you! I don’t have time to waste on trash like you!” Red Eyes regarded the group before him with even more disdain.
“Kid! I told you, don’t let me catch you alone. Let’s see who’s stronger—weren’t you so cocky the other day?” Red Eyes dug at his ear and eyed Demon Night with a mocking tilt.
Peng Lei held Demon Night back, urging him, “Demon Night! Don’t act rashly. It’s a trap!”
“Senior Brother, let go! Today, I want to see what makes the Demonic Clan so different!” Demon Night’s face was filled with anger.
Peng Lei noticed that the two from the Martial Arts Academy were also restraining themselves. He understood that the people from Fire Dance Academy shared the same goal as he did: let someone else test the waters first.
At that moment, Red Eyes’ voice rang out again, “If anyone here can defeat me, I’ll let you leave. Otherwise, you’ll remain here! Ah, right! If you lack even that courage, kneel before me and acknowledge me as your master; then maybe I’ll consider sparing your lives!”
Demon Night could no longer hold back when he heard this. He broke free from Peng Lei’s grasp, weapon in hand, and charged at Red Eyes!
“Demon Night, come back! Don’t be reckless!” Peng Lei also rushed toward Red Eyes, and the surrounding demons and monsters immediately surged toward them.
“Stop! We agreed to a one-on-one fight. If you break the rules, don’t blame me for using numbers against you!” Facing the enemy encircling them, Peng Lei stood his ground unwillingly, knowing that a one-on-one fight offered at least a chance of victory. If they were all attacked at once, their side would be utterly defeated. Now, everything depended on Demon Night.
“Come on, kid! Now no one will disturb us. Let’s have a proper duel!”
Red Eyes finished speaking, slipped a pair of ghost claws onto his hands, and Demon Night, light as a feather, sprang into the air, wielding his sword fiercely at Red Eyes.
“Good! I’ve been wanting to see what you’re made of!” Red Eyes quickly advanced, his ghost claws clashing with Demon Night’s attack.
“Hmph! You really don’t know your limits.” Demon Night sneered at Red Eyes’ tactics. With a loud crash, Red Eyes was sent flying, a trickle of blood at the corner of his mouth. Seeing Red Eyes injured, the Demonic Clan members drew their weapons, about to intervene.
“Stay put! Anyone who interferes, I’ll cripple them!” Red Eyes stood up, lightly wiping the blood from his lips, and slowly raised his gaze to Demon Night. “Not bad, kid. You’ve got some strength. I didn’t expect your physical power to be so formidable. Next, I won’t hold back. Prepare to die!” Red Eyes glared at Demon Night furiously. “I’ll make sure you understand the consequences of provoking me!”
Red Eyes abandoned his contempt, shouting, “Parade of a Hundred Ghosts!” as he attacked Demon Night.
“Good! I’ll use you to hone my martial skills! Figure and Shadow—Inseparable!” Demon Night and Red Eyes clashed. Upon encountering Red Eyes’ attack, Demon Night was momentarily stunned, wounds appearing on his body. Though the daze lasted only an instant, among experts, victory could be decided in those few seconds.
Recovering, Demon Night hurriedly retreated using his feather-light technique. “Your attacks contain mental assaults?” Demon Night couldn’t help but exclaim.
“Hmph! That’s what you get for underestimating me!” Peng Lei quickly called out, “Demon Night, be careful! The Demonic Clan specializes in mental power, so every attack carries a mental assault!”
“Demon Night, fight without worry! His mental attacks will no longer affect you! The Creation Cauldron naturally counters mental attacks—it’s a divine artifact among mental defenses!” The voice of Old Cauldron resonated in Demon Night’s mind.
“Come on, let’s go again! I just didn’t understand your attacks before, but now I’ll break your mental assaults!”
“Just you? Hmph! Let’s see how you break my attacks!” Red Eyes looked at Demon Night with disdain. “Then let’s see who prevails!”
“Parade of a Hundred Ghosts!” Red Eyes repeated his technique, attacking Demon Night. Seeing the ghost claws appear all around him, Demon Night smiled softly. “Figure and Shadow—Inseparable!” Demon Night’s great sword closely followed the ghost claws’ movements, sticking tightly to them.
“How is this possible? How did you break my mental attack?” Now it was Red Eyes’ turn to be shocked.
“Want to know? Defeat me first!” Demon Night replied, meeting Red Eyes’ gaze.
