Chapter 112: Complete Annihilation of the Soul
"Young master, I'm back!" Su Yun strolled into the ancestral hall. To maintain his disguise, Yao Feng had refrained from using his spiritual power to probe the surroundings. Rising to his feet, Yao Feng approached Su Yun.
Seeing the food Su Yun carried, Yao Feng gently wiped Su Yun’s forehead, causing Su Yun to blush and lower his head.
“Let’s go! I've come to terms with it. The past is the past. From now on, I want to live as a brand-new self!” Yao Feng’s words were actually directed at Yao Ye. He placed the food on the ground, took Su Yun’s hand, and said, “Let’s go back. Don’t keep the Bear Demon King waiting!”
Su Yun nodded and, accompanied by Yao Feng and the guard who had fetched water, flew toward the Demon Clan’s great hall.
Upon their arrival, Bear Ba Tian, having received a report, also approached.
“Yao Ye! Now you should accept your master. Don’t keep dodging, or I’ll get angry!” Yao Feng bowed to Bear Ba Tian and asked, “Bear Demon King, what should I do?”
Bear Ba Tian’s face lit up with joy at Yao Feng’s response. He grabbed Yao Feng and roughly pushed him onto a chair.
“Good, Yao Ye! Just open your mind and let me imprint a seal on your spiritual power. Don’t resist.”
Yao Feng nodded gently. Bear Ba Tian extended his right hand, and a surge of spiritual power entered Yao Feng’s spiritual sea through his third eye, forming a mysterious mark.
Yao Feng opened his eyes, knelt on one knee, bowed respectfully, and said, “Greetings, Master!”
“Hahaha! Excellent! Now, Yao Ye, remove the master recognition from the Creation Cauldron.”
Yao Feng frowned. “Master, it’s not that I’m unwilling, but I lack the cultivation to remove it for now.”
Bear Ba Tian’s expression darkened. “Fine! I’ll find a way. You may leave for now.”
“Yes!”
Yao Feng exited the great hall and followed the guard into the bedroom. Sitting cross-legged, he made hand seals and forced out the bead from his body. Channeling spiritual power into the bead, it quickly vanished into the void.
The bead swiftly flew into the spatial talisman, appearing before Yao Ye. It gradually formed a human figure.
“Yao Ye, when you see this image, drip your blood onto the bead. It will lead you to the teleportation array. You must leave quickly. Once you exit the bead, I can only maintain the disguise for one day and night. You have just one day to escape!”
With these words, the image vanished. Tears streamed down Yao Ye’s face as he held the bead, unable to let go for a long time.
“Yao Ye, now’s not the time for sorrow. You must leave quickly. Don’t waste your ancestors’ goodwill, and don’t allow their sacrifice to be in vain!” The old cauldron spirit took human form and stood before Yao Ye, his expression filled with both reverence and emotion.
“They were all respectable people: Yang Xiaotian, Yao Feng... sigh.” Yao Ye seemed to recall something and looked at the old cauldron spirit urgently. “Old Cauldron, I see my ancestors’ spiritual power within this space. Is there a way to retrieve it?”
“Yao Ye, it’s useless. Spiritual power will dissipate. It’s not a lingering soul, so...” The old cauldron’s words trailed off.
Yao Ye lowered his head in despair, clenching his fists and kneeling.
“It’s all my fault, all my fault. If not for me, my ancestors wouldn’t have had to sacrifice themselves!”
The old cauldron approached Yao Ye, crouched down, and gently patted his shoulder.
“Do you remember what your ancestors warned you? They hoped you’d live as a new self, rebuild the Heavenly Demon Wolf Clan. Your mission is great. You must leave here immediately!”
Yao Ye sobbed and nodded. Biting his fingertip, he let blood drip onto the bead. Upon contact with the blood, the bead flew into Yao Ye’s spiritual sea, forming a map with a red dot, a yellow dot, and an arrow.
Yao Ye exited the spatial talisman, put it away, and slowly ran toward the direction indicated by the arrow. The yellow dot on the map moved correspondingly.
Fortunately, the journey was perilous but uneventful. By dusk, Yao Ye had left the Bear Clan’s territory. He looked back at the clan once more.
“Wait for my triumphant return. I will make you pay dearly. Your blood debts will be repaid, and nothing will grow where you stand!”
Turning away, Yao Ye’s eyes shone with determination as he ran deeper into the forest.
Meanwhile, Bear Ba Tian and Su Yun were in discussion.
“I really want to kill that useless wretch and avenge my son. Fairy, do you have any good ideas?”
Su Yun’s eyes flicked, pacing back and forth. Suddenly, she seemed to have an idea, stopping to meet Bear Ba Tian’s gaze.
“Yao Ye’s demon core is shattered, but his realm remains. If we keep feeding him power, it might work.”
Bear Ba Tian sprang up, clapping his hands excitedly.
“Right! How did I not think of that? Let’s go find Yao Ye right now!”
They arrived at Yao Feng’s residence and kicked open the door. Yao Feng rose from the bed and knelt, greeting Bear Ba Tian respectfully.
After hearing Bear Ba Tian’s intentions, his expression twisted into a grimace as he sneered.
“Bear Demon King, are you trying to exterminate me utterly?”
“Hmph! You’re foolish. I killed your father and your entire clan. I won’t spare you!”
“Hahaha! What’s meant to happen will happen. Fine then, I’ll stop disguising myself!”
Bear Ba Tian stared at Yao Feng in shock, pointing at him confusedly.
“You’re not Yao Ye?”
“Hahaha! Look again and see who I am!” Yao Feng laughed heartily, shedding his disguise to reveal his true face. Su Yun and Bear Ba Tian looked on in disbelief.
“Sorry, Bear Demon King, but Yao Ye has already escaped here. You’re disappointed, aren’t you?”
“You damned traitor! How dare you deceive me!” Bear Ba Tian charged at Yao Feng fiercely.
Yao Feng laughed loudly, dodged the attack, and stopped by the doorway.
“Yao Ye! I’ll give you one last gift!”
Suddenly, Yao Feng’s entire body radiated a brilliant light. A tremendous oppressive force swept over Su Yun and Bear Ba Tian, who exchanged a worried glance and exclaimed in alarm.
At the instant Yao Feng exploded his residual soul, Bear Ba Tian grabbed Su Yun and pushed her toward Yao Feng.
“Boom!”
A vast area of houses collapsed; the entire vicinity was leveled. Bear Ba Tian crawled out from the rubble, coughing violently.
“Cough, cough!” Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, his face dark with anger.
The others arrived, witnessing Bear Ba Tian kneel on one knee amid the ruins, unwilling to raise his head.
“A bunch of useless fools! Search every inch for Yao Ye’s trace!” Bear Ba Tian shouted, growing frantic as he spat blood again and flew toward his residence.
Hearing his order, the small demons scattered, diving into the primeval forest.
