Chapter 104: The Devil Jennifer

With an extra 5% service fee, the home furnishing center delivered the goods overnight, almost filling the warehouse to capacity. Gao Ning moved the last of the gang lackeys into his castle, told the three of them to leave their weapons in the storage room, changed his own clothes, and drove straight to the warehouse.

After briefly checking the manifest with the delivery crew, Gao Ning paid the bill without hesitation. He then opened the castle gates and used his fruit ability to absorb all the furniture from the warehouse directly into his body.

The three cool-looking gang lackeys, appearing for the first time, didn't fire a single shot; instead, they spent the whole night as movers. By the time the sky began to brighten, they had finally finished decorating most of the rooms inside the castle.

Tossing the resulting trash into a dumpster, Gao Ning returned to his hotel, finished breakfast, and drove to the supermarket again. After consulting with the procurement department, he purchased a large quantity of food and daily necessities under the guise of a school camping trip, once again having them delivered to the warehouse.

Afterward, Gao Ning had time to wander the city for a few hours. He found a beverage supplier and bought an entire truckload of alcohol. He even went to the mall and went on a shopping spree for several hours, buying luxury brand clothing by the dozen as long as he liked the look of them, along with designer watches, belts, modern tech gadgets, and large bags from various companies. By the time dusk fell, his shopping frenzy finally came to an end.

Having skipped school for an entire day, Gao Ning’s phone had been ringing constantly, the screen displaying his homeroom teacher’s name. However, Gao Ning didn't take it to heart; he could easily smooth things over when he returned.

Back at the warehouse, everything had been delivered. After storing the items within his castle space, Gao Ning drove back. By now, after a day and a night, he had nine gang lackeys at his disposal. As for the "Big Black Bears," he had deployed fifteen of them around Devil's Kettle Town—a veritable army of bears.

Devil's Kettle Town was indeed quite remote; even with the accelerator floored and his speed pushing past 100 mph, it still took three hours to reach the town. As he neared home, he suddenly spotted a familiar figure by the side of the road.

Gao Ning didn't know her well, but he had a deep impression of her physique; one glance was enough to know it was Jennifer. However, compared to her usual polished and glamorous appearance, she looked exceptionally disheveled at this moment.

"Is it today?" Gao Ning frowned. He recalled a turning point in the plot. A band from the big city had arrived, captivating Jennifer completely. Jennifer had gone to a bar to chase the stars, even hoping, with a touch of melancholy, to have a relationship beyond friendship with the boys in the band. Unfortunately, the band members were devil worshippers who ended up sacrificing Jennifer, believing her to be a virgin. Because something went wrong, the devil possessed Jennifer instead, turning her into a man-eating monster.

Before leaving, Gao Ning had specifically inquired about the band, but the neighbors knew nothing, and there was no news online. He had thought the plot had been brought forward significantly. Who would have guessed that just a day after he left, the turning event would occur?

Gao Ning watched the familiar back, slowly pulled the car over, rolled down the window, and called out, "Jennifer?"

Jennifer looked up. Her face was covered in blood, especially around her mouth and teeth, as if she had just eaten a live rat. She looked as though she had been soaked in blood; her entire body was drenched, emitting a pungent, bloody stench. Her eyes had lost their usual vivacity, now filled with an aggressive, predatory quality, like a lion spotting its prey.

Gao Ning curled his lips, stopped the car, and stepped out. Jennifer’s shoulders were hunched, her eyes locked onto Gao Ning.

"Are you alright?"

Gao Ning had barely spoken, not yet able to show any concern, when Jennifer let out a howl and suddenly leaped, pouncing directly at him.

"Roar—"

Gao Ning didn't dodge or evade; he threw a right hook. Jennifer’s mouth split open, her teeth suddenly turning into serrated blades, and she bit down on Gao Ning’s neck with a sharp *clack*. It was as if she had bitten into solid steel; the intense vibration made Jennifer involuntarily let out a cry of pain.

At that moment, Gao Ning’s right fist slammed directly into Jennifer’s waist. With a *bang*, the girl flew over ten meters, slammed into a tree, and rolled onto the grass. The tree trunk shook violently, and falling leaves showered down, dusting Jennifer evenly.

Gao Ning’s punch had at least two tons of force, yet hitting Jennifer felt like hitting a rubber ball—it didn't seem to have any effect. Her body had clearly undergone a magical transformation; her temperature had risen, and she possessed astonishing elasticity. A punch that would have shattered a normal person’s entire ribcage had only caused a one-inch indentation. Yet, after landing, Jennifer jumped right back up, as if she hadn't been hurt at all.

Gao Ning grinned, feeling a bit excited. That’s right, it was this woman. Only this kind of constitution and ability could withstand Gao Ning’s current physique. As for eating people, that was just a minor issue. Any task could be resolved eventually. Once he had effective means of control, Jennifer would be no small asset in battle.

Having been attacked, Jennifer was clearly angry. She opened her mouth, about to let out another roar, but suddenly spat out a large pool of bloody black bile. Gao Ning was slightly stunned, and Jennifer seized the opportunity to rush forward. Gao Ning was quick-witted; he grabbed her arm and executed a shoulder throw.

With a *thud*, a human-shaped depression was carved into the ground. Jennifer’s head struck the earth, her body stiffened, and she passed out instantly.

Just as he was about to call someone to come and tie her up, an off-road vehicle suddenly screeched to a halt. The driver stumbled out and rushed over. Gao Ning then realized it was Needy, Jennifer’s inseparable best friend. In the plot, Needy was the one who personally killed the demonic Jennifer, gained some of the devil’s powers, and eventually took out the five-man band. She was an ordinary-looking girl with glasses and pigtails. She had played with Jennifer since childhood and had once accidentally swallowed some of Jennifer’s blood; as a result, after Jennifer became a demon, she could intermittently see certain visions.

"Needy, why are you here?" Gao Ning asked curiously.

To his surprise, Needy only cared about her friend. She hurriedly checked Jennifer, and upon finding her covered in blood but uninjured, she breathed a sigh of relief. Only then did she turn to Gao Ning and say, "Damn it, what did you just do? How could you hit Jennifer?"

Gao Ning wore an innocent expression. "That’s not my fault. She was delirious and attacked me first, and I didn't even hurt her. Tell me, what exactly happened? Why is Jennifer acting like a wild beast?"

"You'd better not ask. Just pretend you don't know what happened tonight! Don't tell anyone, do you hear me?" Needy glared at him.

Gao Ning spread his hands. "Fine, but I deserve an explanation!"

"I will give you an answer!"

After saying this, Needy shoved Jennifer into the car and drove away.
