Chapter 65: Battery Level
All of it emanated from the young master.
Through the rearview mirror, his expression showed no change—aloof as ever. Yet his presence was chilling, to the point of being terrifying.
Luo Hua parted his lips. “Young Master, could it be that the girl already has a boyfriend? Do you want me to handle it…”
With a snap, the window rolled up.
Zhan Su replied coldly, “It doesn’t matter whether she has a boyfriend or not. I have no interest in her.”
“I know, of course. The young master’s taste could never be so poor. It’s just that your health is at stake, and we can’t be careless. If she’s entangled with another man and brings some virus to you…” Luo Hua watched Zhan Su’s eyes intently, prepared to stop the moment he saw even a hint of displeasure.
Unexpectedly, after he finished, the young master didn’t object.
Such an unreliable remark, and yet the young master didn’t raise any objection?
Does his silence mean agreement?
Luo Hua nearly forgot to turn the wheel as he drove.
“Young Master, I’ll have someone investigate the background of this boy right away…”
After a pause, Zhan Su replied, “Alright.”
Luo Hua felt as though he'd hit the jackpot. Having followed the young master for years, he’d only recently discovered what seemed to be a shortcut to getting close to this icy, unyielding demon.
Perhaps now, he could finally dare to ask for a raise or a little extra bonus at the end of the year.
Zhan Su opened his computer and began handling the day’s business.
Though only eighteen, he was mature beyond his years—cold, ruthless, and a genius in his own right. Already, he had taken charge of several of the Zhan family’s software subsidiaries, balancing school and company affairs with ease.
It had become routine for him.
The game “Imperial Lord” was one of his projects—a wildly popular release. Now, he was reviewing various data analyses from recent days, planning the next expansion update.
But after a while, he found it hard to concentrate.
His mind kept drifting back to the scene of Shi Qingqing, held in another boy’s arms…
The vein on his forehead throbbed violently.
He loosened his tightly buttoned shirt collar with force and snapped the laptop shut.

All morning, Shi Qingqing’s classroom was crowded with people trying to buy her family’s so-called “antique” mobile phone. The line seemed endless.
Left with no choice, Shi Qingqing took a red marker pen and wrote, in large characters, a notice which she stuck to the classroom door:
“The phone is not for sale! The family heirloom has been deposited in the bank. Viewing is not permitted.”
Yet still, curious students came to gawk at her. Fortunately, her battered phone had already been upgraded—it now had a four-inch screen, and the appearance had improved considerably. It was no longer the same 3.5-inch relic everyone had seen yesterday, and thus, she narrowly avoided having her phone snatched by force.
In this way, Shi Qingqing barely made it through the afternoon.
Her phone was low on battery, so she had to use it sparingly.
Several times between classes, she took her phone out to the sports field to bask in the sun, hoping to recharge it. Yet the battery showed no signs of recovery.
She was disappointed.
Apparently, it wasn’t solar-powered.
Why had it miraculously regained battery before?
Was it set to restore at intervals? That didn’t seem right—the times when it recovered before had been inconsistent.
Shi Qingqing couldn’t figure it out.
Well, she’d just wait for it to recharge on its own.
It was Friday, and with no classes scheduled in the afternoon, it was time for club activities.
At Qingming High School, the course load wasn’t as heavy as at other schools; students had plenty of time to pursue their interests through various clubs.
