Chapter 111: Shi Qingqing Is So Fierce!
"I'm fine. Thank you for your concern, Senior Xie," Shi Qingqing sighed in relief.
Fighting at school would lead to demerits.
She didn't want to cause trouble. Yang Yini's family had connections, so if the school pursued the matter, she would be the one at a disadvantage.
Fortunately, Sheng Chao came just in time to intervene.
Meanwhile, Yang Yini's smile froze on her face.
She hadn't even landed a hit on this little brat—what could she do?
The worst part was, she had thought Sheng Chao had come because of her, and she had been delighted.
Unexpectedly, Sheng Chao didn't even glance at her; he immediately expressed concern for Shi Qingqing.
"Senior Sheng, she’s the one who went too far, you know..." Yang Yini scolded.
Hearing this, a hint of displeasure crossed Sheng Chao's face. "Yang Yini, why are you so wild? Is this school a place for throwing tantrums like a spoiled heiress?"
Yang Yini felt even more wronged. "Senior Sheng, why are you taking her side? She deserves it..."
"I just saw you trying to hit someone. What kind of place is a school? A place for fighting? If you want to fight, go home and do it there," Sheng Chao retorted with sarcasm.
The Sheng family’s business was bigger than the Yangs’, and Yang Yini liked Sheng Chao.
Even so, despite Sheng Chao’s mockery, the heiress’s temper, no matter how fierce, was held in check.
Tears welled up in her eyes. "Senior Sheng! Why are you protecting her? What’s your relationship with her?"
Finally, Shi Qingqing found a chance to speak. "I have no relationship with Senior Sheng. He’s just speaking fairly."
Yang Yini was about to lose her temper again but held back under Sheng Chao’s icy glare.
Sheng Chao said, "Yang Yini, listen carefully. Shi Qingqing is my friend. I hope you’ll spare her from your bullying from now on, or else..."
He paused, and the surrounding students instantly caught the implied warning.
Shi Qingqing felt uneasy about the situation, but since Sheng Chao was speaking up for her, she couldn’t quite figure it out.
Yang Yini’s hatred for Shi Qingqing clearly intensified several levels.
She nearly cried, pointed at Shi Qingqing and Sheng Chao, stomped her foot, covered her face, and ran off.
Once she left, the matter fizzled out—one slap doesn’t make a sound, and there was no more excitement.
Plus, class was about to begin, so everyone dispersed.
Students from the neighboring class returned to their own rooms, and those from their class went back to their seats.
When the bell rang, Sheng Chao was about to return to his own classroom. He waved at her with a smile. "Want to have lunch together?"
"No need. I have a lot of homework at noon. Thank you for the kind offer. Class is about to start, so I’ll head in first."
Sheng Chao smiled faintly, nodded, and reluctantly left the entrance of Class 17’s classroom.
As soon as he left, quiet murmurs broke out in Class 17.
"Shi Qingqing must have a deep connection with Senior Sheng!"
"Yang Yini lost to Shi Qingqing again. I really didn’t expect Shi Qingqing to be so fierce!"
"Could it be because she has Senior Sheng’s backing?"
"Who knows? She used to be like a ghost in class, just a boarding student without even a school badge. Truly unexpected..."
Shi Qingqing was in a bad mood.
Anyone bitten by a mad dog early in the morning wouldn’t be happy.
Beside her, Zhang Xiaotu tugged her sleeve. "Qingqing, I didn’t stop Yang Yini earlier; I should’ve helped you."
Shi Qingqing whispered, "It’s not your fault. You couldn't have stopped her."
Yang Yini had several helpers around her. If Zhang Xiaotu had interfered, they would surely have joined in as well.
