Words Upon Release

This is not my first time publishing a work, but it is indeed the first time I have written an opening note for a release.

I’ve realized that not writing one can have serious consequences—very serious.

So, let us encourage each other!

I woke up in the early hours to write this note, not for any grand reason, but simply to ask for some initial subscriptions and monthly votes. Yes, if you have them to spare, please don’t miss the moment: noon on November 16th, a very important day, a very important hour.

Also, it’s a rule that when a work is released, there must be a burst of updates. As an author, I certainly intend to honor that.

How many updates? Ah, at least five!

Five updates—it’s been a long time since I’ve done something like this because I write strictly according to the storyline, not bound by the usual 2,000-word update limit. Five updates mean five sleepless nights.

Honestly, I’m a bit impatient and even tempted to keep updating nonstop until this case concludes—whether I have the ability to do so is another matter.

But I must remain calm, calm, and calm again.

Survival comes first.

Let me share something interesting: when I write, I must be in a state close to madness—my soul detached from my body, neither fully asleep nor awake, living in a drunken dream, wandering beyond the heavens.

If I’m too clear-headed, I can’t write;

If I’m too exhausted, I can’t write;

If I have too much time, I can’t write;

If I have too little time, I can’t write either.

The elder figures of Beiting in the story—I don’t want to let them down or leave any regrets behind; every protagonist and supporting character is a living, breathing person who cannot be casually erased.

Many have advised me to stop writing, saying it’s too painful, and why not earn a living elsewhere?

I’ve faced discouragement too: “This is traditional literature, sparing with words. You can’t even guarantee regular updates. In the end, you’ll be outpaced by web fiction. Why throw eggs against stones?” (Originally planned for release on November 1st, but due to two consecutive delays last month, it was pushed back to November 16th—a pity.)

Some have even boldly predicted that this work will end in failure.

Yet, I love new things, I love burgeoning fields like online literature.

I also deeply understand that if a work cannot move its readers first—whether submitted to publishers or uploaded online—it will inevitably fail, and the author will remain a helpless fish out of water.

The road ahead is still long, with no end in sight—
