Volume One, Chapter 23: Encounter with the Qin Father and Son at the Kindergarten
Blind Zhang was merely putting on a show, never expecting Zhuang Yan to dismantle his pretense so bluntly; he stared at Zhuang Yan, struck dumb.
"That’s exactly it, believe me! Mr. Martin, not one of the films I produce will lose money; in fact, I guarantee they will make a fortune!" Liu Hua said with confidence.
On the other side, Bai Lin was locked in a life-or-death struggle with Nagini. Nagini was immune to most spells, including the Killing Curse. Seeing that his dark magic bombardments were a waste of effort, Bai Lin tried Shadow Chains, but they proved unable to contain her. He had no choice but to control the Fist of Ogre and engage her in physical combat.
Long Yi remained composed as he spoke. Catching sight of Tang Zhong entering the kitchen, he subconsciously followed him.
In the past, Wang Qiang’s recommendation of Zhuang Yan was just a malicious prank, as he wanted to watch Zhuang Yan make a fool of himself.
"Dugu Ming, a disciple of the Heavenly Sword Sect, reported that Young Master Shi was killed by two students from the Jiangzhou Martial Arts Academy!" The tall man’s tone was filled with disbelief.
Fragmented images flickered through Xiao Buhei’s mind, and the pain caused her to clutch her head in agony.
"Who on earth are you? Stop spouting nonsense about 'Supreme Masters'—I’m not buying it," Mr. Han said through gritted teeth.
Over the past few weeks, she had gradually adapted to life at Hogwarts. Aside from flying lessons, she excelled in almost every class; perhaps, just as her grandmother had said, she possessed a remarkable talent for magic.
Before they had walked even a few dozen meters, the floor ahead was covered in a layer of red-black substance, with faint, deep black veins visible, as if it were coated in the flesh and blood of some creature.
Since the principal had already spoken, they were going to create a wax figure at the school—an exact replica of Xia Luo—to commemorate his contributions to Luojiang University.
Not long ago, he had said he wanted a child... though she was not fully conscious at the time, she remembered it clearly.
She spoke with such candor that even Ning Wei, standing to the side, couldn't help but cover her mouth to suppress a giggle. Mu Yingchen glared at her, and Ning Wei hurriedly found an excuse to leave.
A carriage was parked outside the tavern. Sikong Yanfei had arrived at some point and was now stepping inside with a slow, measured gait.
Father was already terrified, and Mother was unconscious; even if she could escape quickly, it didn't mean she could ensure all five of them would get away safely.
Because Jian Ting had to drive, he couldn't keep an eye on me the whole time. He could only lean me against the back seat and secure me with the seatbelt. Only after confirming that I couldn't struggle or move about did he go to the front to drive.
I didn't know how to comfort Millie. After all, with Jian Lihua dead, a mountain of matters awaited attention; surely Lin Rongshen had no time to waste on such things.
"It’s been over a month. I’m sorry I didn't say goodbye when I left. Let tea serve as wine!" Xia Qingxiao raised her cup in a gesture before tilting her head back and draining the entire cup of tea.
"This question will definitely be on the general exam! Even if you don't understand it, you must memorize it by heart!" On the podium, Feng Meilan held a mock exam paper in one hand and a chalkboard eraser in the other, rapping rhythmically against the solution steps on the blackboard.
After she finished speaking, she made a scissors gesture with her fingers. I flinched backward, thinking to myself, can you really blame me? You were the ones who weren't wearing clothes in the first place.
With a final, thunderous vibration, the lid of the bronze sarcophagus shifted out of place, slid heavily to the side, and the coffin overturned onto the floor.
"Sister, what were you talking about with this Young Master Yu?" Empress Xiaozhuang asked, looking at the Noble Consort with a smile.
"The Prince is naturally kind to all the sisters in his household," Situ Se replied indifferently.
"Oh? So the father has grown wings, and the son has found his voice! Are you trying to kick me out?" Lei Li raised his hammer at Zhao Wuji.
Seeing them behave this way, Old Man Liu was furious, so he gave them a very serious warning. He told them that if they continued to linger like this, it would be entirely pointless, and besides, none of this was as simple as it seemed.
The Immortal Elder stroked his beard and said, "These three questions are: Who are you? Where do you come from? Where are you going? When I return, I hope you can give me a satisfactory answer." With that, the Immortal Elder hurried away, leaving only Xizhou and the monk behind.
As the Ancient Demon Ancestor spoke, two of his disciples turned their gazes toward them.
Between the two gowns, the red one was undoubtedly more magnificent and breathtaking, while the white one appeared too plain, looking dull and lusterless by comparison. Gu Nuan’s current appearance clearly showed she was willing to let Gu Ling be the center of attention tomorrow, even if it meant she would merely serve as a backdrop.
Suddenly, the compass in his hand began to spin violently. Guo Jin immediately felt a cold wind blow around him, and the lights in the corridor, which had been bright, began to flicker, as if the surroundings had instantly become sinister and terrifying.
Ye Feng wondered if all these ancient monsters who had lived for who knows how many years were this dim-witted.
The only thing he could do now was hope the monster stayed away from the busy city; if that failed, they would have to finish it off with a nuclear bomb.
"I tell you, Master, I’ve never been sordid; I act according to my conscience. From now on, I will kill fewer innocent people!" Ying Kang promised.
"Can you stop tormenting people? What kind of 'Exalted God' are you! My wounds haven't healed yet! I’m still in pain all over!" I complained.
After discovering this discrepancy, Shen Jiahao immediately went to the surveillance room to review the footage from around that day.
At this moment, Ye Feng’s mental energy was truly and severely overdrawn; that burst of power just now had cost him quite a lot.
No wonder this old man’s pulse was so strong and vigorous; within the constant flow, there seemed to be a thread of pure steel-like energy, and this energy was clearly not Tang Zhentian’s own.
Thinking this, he flicked out one stone after another. Many of the handsome men in white were instantly paralyzed and ruthlessly devoured by the spirits of the divine beasts during their skirmishes.
"Brother, how about this? Let me cover the meal you’re having today, how’s that? Consider it my treat," the young man said with a smile, though he felt unhappy deep down. This guy in front of him had already eaten two bowls of noodles—what was the big deal? Surely he could spare two bowls for him?
The Black Flame Sect was filled with powerhouses; there were three giants at the Saint level, and no shortage of formidable experts at the Divine Ability and Heaven-Manifesting realms.
