Chapter 149: Revenge
"Oda? When did someone from the Oda family wander into the Miyamoto family's territory?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. Both the Oda and Miyamoto families were prominent clans in Eastern waters, and intelligence reports indicated that the two great families had always been locked in a fierce, clandestine struggle.
Ayaka Oda bit her lip and replied, "I am merely a sacrificial pawn for my family. For political gains, I am to be wed to Xiong Miyamoto, the eldest legitimate son of the Miyamoto family, which is why I was stationed here in advance."
I sneered, noncommittal.
"You don't believe me? Everything I've said is true," Ayaka urged anxiously.
"Whether what you say is true is of no concern to me. You should know the locations of the Miyamoto family's outposts and headquarters in Tianshuidao, shouldn't you?" I said calmly.
"I... I know. Are you planning to—" Ayaka grew excited.
I glanced at Ayaka, narrowing my eyes, and commanded, "Mark out all of the Miyamoto family's outposts and headquarters in Tianshuidao."
"Yes, I'll mark them for you right now... but I don't have paper or a pen. How about I—" Ayaka began.
Before she could finish, I picked up a tube of lipstick from the vanity table and tossed it to her. "Draw on the mirror," I said.
Ayaka let out an "oh" and picked up the lipstick, beginning to sketch a hand-drawn map on the mirror's surface.
As she leaned forward, her bathrobe wasn't very long, revealing the slender, porcelain-white tops of her thighs.
Paying no attention to that whatsoever, I focused entirely on the landmarks she was drawing.
At that exact moment, my gaze hardened with murderous intent. I suddenly reached out, grabbed a handful of Ayaka's hair, and jerked her head back violently.
Ayaka let out a miserable shriek, her head tilted upward as she stared at me with the terror of a cornered fawn.
"Trying to play games with me? Do you take me for a fool?" I demanded brutally.
"I... I didn't," Ayaka cried, tears welling in her eyes.
"Still playing innocent? You're an Eastern wicked cultivator, what's with the shrinking violet act?" I snapped harshly. My other finger pointed to a specific mark on the mirror. "Did you think that just because I haven't been to Tianshuidao before, I wouldn't recognize that place? That's a military base. Were you leading me there to be killed?"
I leaned in close to Ayaka's ear, speaking with a grim snarl, "I'll give you one more chance. Waste it, and I guarantee your death will be unimaginably agonizing."
I was struggling to keep my emotions in check. Over ten thousand Chinese lives, countless skeletons lining the undersea passage, and... Xiao-Yu...
Ayaka wiped away her previous marks on the mirror and, with trembling hands, began to map them out anew.
Before long, she finished. There were a total of fifteen outposts belonging to the Miyamoto family in Tianshuidao, with their headquarters nestled beneath the heavily guarded Fulin Mountain.
"Take off your bathrobe," I suddenly said coldly.
Ayaka trembled, raised her hands, and untied the robe.
Pulling out a talisman brush, I began drawing symbols directly onto her skin.
In the blink of an eye, her front and back were covered in talismans. A few minutes later, the runic inscriptions faded into invisibility.
After that, I pressed a finger between Ayaka's eyebrows, leaving a spiritual seal deep within her soul.
"Master!" Ayaka knelt respectfully at my feet, stripped of any lingering will to resist.
I used a minor technique on the unconscious maid, ensuring that when she woke, she would have no memory of the preceding events.
With that, I slipped out of the villa soundlessly.
It was already past three in the morning. Aside from the occasional drunkard or rebellious youth roaring past on a motorcycle, the streets were entirely deserted.
A dark shadow materialized like a phantom before a large, tightly locked auto-tuning shop.
Inside the shop, a few guards were gathered around a table drinking, chattering noisily about which red-light district woman was the prettiest and most alluring, punctuated by vulgar bursts of laughter.
Suddenly, one of them jerked his head up, catching sight of a cold-faced young man standing inside the room, staring at them with a sneer.
His heart skipped a beat, and he opened his mouth to scream.
Yet the moment his mouth parted, his throat was gripped as if in a vise-like chokehold.
The next second, a mouthful of blood mixed with internal organ fragments erupted from his lips.
The remaining men turned pale with shock. They whipped their heads around to look at me, only to find that their bodies no longer seemed to belong to them, rendering them utterly immobile.
"My name is Qin Feng, and I come from China," I said coldly.
The moment the words left my lips, the heads of those men burst open like watermelons.
Several malevolent souls materialized, which I immediately subjected to soul-searching techniques, extracting a portion of their memories.
In an instant, I grasped the layout and purpose of this Miyamoto family outpost—it was a drug distribution center for the clan.
With a flash of movement, the Blood Fiend Blade materialized in my hand, and I began the slaughter of every member stationed at the outpost.
Most of them were dismembered in their sleep, blood flowing freely.
Those who woke in terror failed to escape death either. An outpost guarded by a single wicked cultivator comparable to a tier-three Yin-Yang master was nothing more than a gathering of ants in my eyes. In barely two or three minutes, over a hundred people met a tragic end.
With a flick of my wrist, I painted a massive character for "Kill" in blood upon the wall, then vanished silently into the night, racing toward the second outpost.
That night was a night of carnage and death.
Of the fifteen Miyamoto family outposts in Tianshuidao, I directly eradicated five. These outposts varied in size—some housing over a thousand people, others just over a hundred. Regardless of age or gender, every single one of them was ruthlessly executed by my blade.
At every single outpost, a massive, blood-red character for "Kill" was left behind.
Just before dawn broke the next morning, I returned to Ayaka's villa, cloaked in an aura of bloody ferocity.
Two sanitation workers were sweeping the street when one of them suddenly gasped in shock, pointing toward the front entrance of a nearby building where dark red blood was seeping out like a stream.
Trembling, the two walked up and pushed open the ajar door. Their eyes widened instantly, their faces twisted in horror before they let out piercing, shrill screams.
In the vast central hall of the house, rows upon rows of severed heads were suspended from the ceiling—dense and innumerable, numbering in the hundreds, still dripping fresh blood.
Below them, mutilated corpses were piled high like mountains, and the blood had been flowing from this very stack like a stream.
Soon, hundreds of police officers arrived, sealing off the block and collecting evidence.
Many officers suffered bouts of retching at the horrific sight.
Yet, identical scenes were discovered in rapid succession across other neighborhoods.
All of Tianshuidao was sent into an uproar, gripped by panic.
At the Miyamoto family headquarters on Fulin Mountain, the current head of the clan, Zei Miyamoto, flew into a rage, shattering several teacups.
Tianshuidao was the Miyamoto stronghold, yet right under their noses, someone had used the bloodiest means possible to destroy five of their outposts without leaving a single survivor.
"Lord Master, this must be the work of a Chinese Yin-Yang master," a middle-aged man said to Zei Miyamoto.
"What makes you say that?" Zei asked coldly, his rage subsiding into a chilling calm.
"Young Master Koji's actions in China were exposed, causing nationwide outrage in China. Chinese Yin-Yang masters are undoubtedly here for revenge," the middle-aged man replied.
"Koji Miyamoto ruined my grand plans, and even the Eye of the Dark Moon was lost. After all the trust I placed in him... Watanabe, tell me how we should respond now?" Zei asked, grinding his teeth.
"Lord Master, we must capture this Chinese cultivator who has infiltrated Tianshuidao, or the Miyamoto family's reputation will plummet into ruin," the middle-aged man urged.
Zei took a deep breath and declared coldly, "As long as he remains in Tianshuidao, I will ensure he has no way to escape. The Wicked Claw sect has already dispatched a hundred wicked cultivators. I want this man captured alive and subjected to the most brutal tortures, begging neither to live nor to die."
After a moment of thought, the middle-aged man suggested, "Since this man specifically targets our Miyamoto family outposts, he will definitely strike at the others. We should project a relaxed exterior while tightening our internal defenses, setting a trap for him to walk right into."
"Very well. I want to see what kind of remarkable figure this Chinese cultivator truly is," Zei snarled hideously.
At the Tianshuidao military camp, the troops stationed here were controlled directly by the Miyamoto family. Placed here to safeguard the clan's headquarters, they counted among the most elite military units in the Eastern lands.
Frequent troop movements stirred the camp, creating an atmosphere of intense strain.
This military force, numbering fifty thousand strong, had seen two-thirds of its personnel detached and deployed to establish defense grids across Tianshuidao's major bases.
At this moment, fewer than ten thousand troops remained in the Tianshuidao camp.
Inside a training chamber within the camp, an elderly man was meditating, his body wreathed in roiling black vapor.
His name was Yuto Kudo, hailing from the Wicked Claw sect. He was Koji Miyamoto's master and the chief wicked cultivator stationed at the Tianshuidao military camp—possessing the strength equivalent to a tier-eight Yin-Yang master.
"Who's there?" Yuto snapped open his eyes, barking a fierce demand.
A gust of yin wind howled through the chamber, plunging the secret room into a hazy, gray gloom.
The echoing sound of sinister laughter reverberated through the enclosure.
