The entrance to the Shangguan family estate was packed so tightly that not even a drop of water could seep through. A large group of young men had gathered, each dressed in splendid attire, surrounded by a cloud of servants and attendants—over two hundred in total. Every youth wore a grim, somber expression.

Soon, Tang Tian and Shangguan Qian arrived at the gate, accompanied by Shangguan Wei and others.

Seeing the crowd, Tang Tian’s eyes narrowed. “A disturbance?”

Tang Tian didn’t realize that with his growing combat experience, whenever he intended to act, an overwhelming aura of lethal intent would involuntarily radiate from him. Qian Shu was startled by Tang Tian’s murderous aura. Although Tang Tian had been a notorious school bully and fierce troublemaker in the past, he had never before displayed such a deadly presence.

“I’ll ask first,” Qian Shu quickly interjected, sensing an inexplicable danger emanating from Tang Tian.

But as Qian Shu’s gaze swept over the crowd, his heart sank suddenly, gripped by a foreboding sense of doom.

These people… all had extraordinary backgrounds!

To the left, a young man dressed in a light green silk shirt was Ming Zichun, the eldest son of the Ming family. Though the Ming family was no longer as illustrious as the Shangguan family once was, it remained a perennial powerhouse in the constellation of Perseus, rarely experiencing decline. The Ming family was an undeniable force within Perseus, and Ming Zichun had long been involved in family affairs. He had even visited the Shangguan estate before and held Miss Qianhui in great admiration.

A few steps away, a rebellious-looking youth with fiery red short hair was Huoyan Guang, the second son of the Huoyan family. Known for his violent temper, he was favored by the Huoyan family matriarch and often acted lawlessly. The Huoyan family was one of Perseus’s most ancient and deeply rooted clans.

Not far off stood Yun Yiyao, a scion of the Yun family, a commercial dynasty that commanded immense wealth and influence in Perseus, rivaling even the Shangguan family.

Then there were the Chu, Hao, Shen, and Qi families...

Looking around, nearly every prominent family in Perseus was present. Such a formidable assembly sent chills down Qian Shu’s spine. Many of these families were not even based on White Rainbow Star.

There was clearly a conspiracy!

Almost instantly, Qian Shu realized someone was orchestrating this behind the scenes. But the opposing side was capable enough to unite nearly all the power within Perseus. Qian Shu’s heart trembled. Even with Miss Qianhui present, it would be impossible to withstand such a coalition.

But Qian Shu was no longer the same man he had been two years ago. Keeping his face expressionless, he steadied his mind and spoke calmly, “Young masters, why have you gathered in front of the Shangguan estate?”

Huoyan Guang snorted coldly. “Cut the act. Which one of you is Tang Tian?”

Tang Tian was somewhat surprised. They had come looking for him? He was puzzled, as he had not offended anyone on White Rainbow Star recently. Why would these people seek him out?

Qian Shu was also taken aback but quickly regained composure. “May I ask why you have come for the young master of our family?”

“A young master?” Ming Zichun interrupted with a hostile tone. “I’d like to see what kind of man is worthy of becoming Miss Qianhui’s husband!”

Yun Yiyao stepped forward and bowed politely. “Greetings, Uncle Qian. We have come to meet the so-called Shangguan young master. Miss Qianhui is deeply respected by this humble nephew. Not just anyone can be worthy of her.”

“Exactly! Some random nobody thinks they can claim Miss Qianhui? They need to see if we approve first!” another voice chimed in.

“A toad dreaming of swan meat! Miss Qianhui is like a celestial being. I refuse to believe anyone here is worthy of her!”

“If you want to marry Miss Qianhui, you have to ask for my consent first!”

“Where’s that bastard Tang Tian? If you have the courage, come out!”

“That guy won’t get away today. Thinking about him just makes me furious! I won’t feel right until I’ve beaten him up!”

...

The crowd roared with rage, curses flying incessantly, each face flushed with unexplainable fury.

The mounting tension made the group resemble a powder keg—one spark away from exploding. Hidden among the crowd, Yu Zeqing’s heart swelled with pride. Especially when he saw the panic in the eyes of the Shangguan disciples, he was nearly overcome with excitement.

Tang Tian was dead meat this time!

He knew these spoiled brats all too well because he had once been like them. Though they were not outright villains, they cared deeply about their pride and, in a moment of fury, would do anything.

Having personally planned this operation in secret and seeing how perfectly it had succeeded, Yu Zeqing felt a sense of accomplishment he had never experienced before.

It was sublime!

On rooftops in the distance, curious onlookers gathered. Amid the crowd, the tall man and the man with the mustache mingled.

“Yu Zeqing is quite capable,” the mustached man said with a smile.

“I don’t like people like him,” the tall man shook his head.

“But he’s useful,” the mustached man replied dismissively. “That’s all that matters!”

The tall man sighed. “Tang Tian is in trouble.”

The Shangguan family had gathered more than two hundred people. Although none were overwhelmingly powerful, their sheer numbers and the strength of their attendants were considerable. Moreover, the Shangguan family dared not provoke these young masters; offending these families would mean losing their foothold in Perseus.

From any perspective, the Shangguan family was doomed this time. And the blow to their reputation, which was still recovering, would be devastating.

Judging by the pale face and cold sweat on Shangguan Qian’s forehead, the situation had worsened beyond measure.

The Shangguan family was finished!

After listening for a while, Tang Tian understood their intention.

He suddenly grinned, revealing two rows of gleaming white teeth.

Yet his blood boiled so fiercely it seemed capable of melting steel, and his eyes blazed like a wildfire sweeping across a vast plain. Every angry, agitated curse echoed clearly in his ears.

It had been a long time since he had felt such rage...

His heart was an icy wasteland, cold and deadly. The smile he wore was defiant, sharp as a blade.

He stepped forward, pushing through the crowd, wearing a half-smile filled with mockery and disdain. Sweeping his gaze around, he said without hiding his sarcasm, “Since when did my business with Qianhui become something you trash have a say in?”

The crowd fell instantly silent.

Everyone stared at Tang Tian in disbelief. None could believe their eyes.

No one expected that in such a situation, this guy would not only step forward but provoke them openly. Was he out of his mind? Had he grown tired of living?

“Definitely tired of living!”

Tang Tian uttered these words with a grim expression, his mocking smile turning ferocious.

Before he finished speaking, his figure vanished.

In the blink of an eye, he appeared beside Ming Zichun.

Tang Tian’s sudden attack caught everyone off guard. To them, Tang Tian was already foolish for stepping out, let alone initiating combat.

Everyone remained stunned by his provocation.

Then Tang Tian struck.

The two attendants beside Ming Zichun reacted first, as if awakened from a dream. Their faces changed abruptly as they shouted and struck out, trying to block Tang Tian.

But Tang Tian seemed to have anticipated this. His body swayed like a pendulum, leaving two afterimages. Like a slippery eel, he slipped through the gap between the two attendants with ease.

Ming Zichun was utterly unprepared for Tang Tian’s attack. Despite his noble status, his strength was poor. The surge of Tang Tian’s killing intent threw him into confusion. Before he could react, Tang Tian’s hand was clamped tightly around his neck!

The two attendants were shocked. Two fierce punches whistled from behind.

Tang Tian had trained in Eagle Claw technique; his fingers curved like hooks, tightening imperceptibly.

Ming Zichun immediately felt a sharp pain in his throat and screamed in agony.

The attendants, suddenly alert, hastily withdrew their inner force, groaning as they suffered slight internal injuries.

With one hand choking Ming Zichun, Tang Tian moved several times, flashing like lightning toward a distant spot.

Only then did the onlookers, their faces pale with fear, realize what had just happened.

Such ferocity!

Being pampered young masters, they had never witnessed such violence. The sudden attack had startled them deeply, but as they regained their composure, their anger erupted.

“How arrogant!”

“Damn it, this cannot be tolerated! Think you can run? No way!”

“Chase him! Take him down!”

“Hit him till he’s dead!”

...

With so many people united, being defeated by Tang Tian would be a massive humiliation.

They believed their numbers and strength gave them an absolute advantage, and Tang Tian’s attack was just a surprise move for which they were unprepared.

Yu Zeqing’s face lit up with delight, nearly screaming in excitement.

Tang Tian had signed his own death warrant!

Had Tang Tian begged for mercy, they might have let him go after venting their anger. But now, having offended everyone and threatening Ming Zichun, the situation had fundamentally changed.

Yu Zeqing saw some of Ming Zichun’s close friends dispatching servants to report back to the Ming family.

Tang Tian, you’re finished!

A mob howled as they charged after Tang Tian.

Qian Shu’s eyes flashed coldly. He took a deep breath and said sternly, “Summon all disciples from the training ground!”

No matter what, he could not let Master A-Tian come to harm. Even if the Shangguan family offended all these families, he was willing to bear it. Having endured the hardest years with Miss Qianhui, he was now alone. The young lady was like a daughter to him—more precious than anyone else.

No one understood better than him how important Tang Tian was to Miss Qianhui. In her world, Tang Tian was the only light in the darkness.

Qian Shu’s heart calmed; all hesitation and fear vanished.

He could hear the Shangguan estate erupting into chaos—clashing weapons, pounding footsteps, furious shouts—as the crowd swelled and approached.

“Uncle Qian!”

Panting, Shangguan Wei and Shangguan Zhu led a group of disciples, their killing intent blazing as they charged forth.

Qian Shu’s kindly face had become sharp and resolute, though a gentle light still shone deep within his pupils.

“Miss, Old Qian will always protect you!”
