For a moment, the over one thousand students and teachers below fell into a deathly silence, all listening intently to the shocking news about to be announced.

Zhou Xuan had not expected Li Yunxi to be so ruthless; he finally displayed the true mettle of a prominent figure in Rongzhou. Zhou Xuan had originally assumed that any disciplinary action against Wang Wei and Zheng Qiang would only be decided after the sports meet concluded. However, with this announcement at the closing ceremony, Wang Wei had truly become infamous—though it was a notoriety of the worst kind.

It seemed that the various humiliations Wang Wei had inflicted upon Li Yunxi over the past few years had been deeply etched in Li’s memory. Now that he had found an opportunity to strike back, it was enough to make Wang Wei regret his actions for the rest of his life.

"During the sports meet, in order to secure victory, Wang Wei, a physical education teacher at the Third Municipal High School, and Zheng Qiang, a student from the second class of the third year, secretly trespassed into the hotel and spiked the bottled water of other competitors with strong laxatives to prevent them from participating. Such behavior severely violates the spirit of fair play and has caused an extremely negative impact. Therefore, the Municipal Education Bureau and the Third Municipal High School have decided to dismiss Wang Wei from his position and issue a major demerit to student Zheng Qiang."

As soon as the dismissal was announced, the teachers and students turned their gazes toward the delegation from the Second County High School, casting curious looks at Zhou Xuan. Everyone was speculating how exactly Zhou Xuan had discovered that the water in the bottles had been tampered with. Based on the competition results, it was clear that Zhou Xuan had not drunk the water; instead, he had seen through the conspiracy and reported it to the Education Bureau.

With this, Zhou Xuan became famous across all the middle schools in Rongzhou City. As news of his miraculous rise since the second half of last year spread, people realized that this remarkably talented athlete was also a top-tier academic student. Those high-achieving students who had previously looked down on sports specialists gasped in disbelief, "Damn, he's a total monster."

After the closing ceremony, Zhou Xuan was surrounded by a crowd of students as if he were a giant panda, everyone clamoring to get a glimpse of this national treasure.

Just as he stepped out of the school gate, Zhou Xuan saw Mr. Li Yunxi approaching, followed by several police officers, a leader from the Third Municipal High School, and, of course, the teacher Wang Wei.

Wang Wei’s face was ashen. He no longer possessed the arrogance and insolence he had shown during the opening ceremony; he looked like a completely different person.

"Ha! Teacher Wang Wei. As the saying goes, 'those who commit many injustices are doomed to destroy themselves.' I believe this applies perfectly to you," Zhou Xuan said as he walked over, greeted Li Yunxi, and smiled at Wang Wei.

"Hmph, it’s all my fault for having poor judgment." Wang Wei glared at Zhou Xuan with resentment before turning to Li Yunxi. "I never thought you’d be so lucky to discover a sports genius like Zhou Xuan. I’ve been winning for years, but I never expected to lose in the end."

Li Yunxi replied, "Years have passed, yet instead of letting go, you’ve only become more extreme. You tried to harm Zhou Xuan this time—you brought this upon yourself."

"Spare me the hypocrisy, Li Yunxi. Do you think you’re so noble? Back in university, I was the one courting Chen Lin first. Who knew that instead of helping me, you’d undercut me? You’re a despicable person. I regret ever considering you a brother." Wang Wei’s voice was hoarse with intense hatred.

"Ha! And I suppose that justifies you poisoning Chen Lin, causing Li Tianyi to grow up as a mentally disabled child?" Zhou Xuan suddenly interjected.

"What are you talking about? What does it have to do with me if Li Tianyi is disabled?" Although Wang Wei hurriedly defended himself, Zhou Xuan caught the fleeting flicker of panic on his face.

Zhou Xuan felt a jolt in his heart. Could it be that Li Tianyi’s condition was truly acquired, and that Wang Wei was the mastermind behind this act of revenge? Zhou Xuan had carefully studied Tianyi’s medical history; given the family backgrounds of Li Yunxi and Chen Lin, the probability of such a condition occurring without genetic factors was extremely low.

Zhou Xuan had just been speculating based on Tianyi’s situation, using the statement to bait Wang Wei. He had not expected such a reaction, which suggested that Wang Wei was indeed responsible for the boy's condition.

"What! Zhou Xuan, have you discovered something?" Li Yunxi realized what was happening and asked Zhou Xuan anxiously.

Zhou Xuan replied, "Mr. Li, I think we should thoroughly investigate whether there were any unusual incidents during your wife's pregnancy. I suspect that Tianyi’s condition might not be congenital, but man-made. I spoke on a hunch just now, but even though Wang Wei covered it up quickly, I saw the panic in his expression."

"What!" Hearing this, Li Yunxi was filled with fury toward Wang Wei. He stared directly at him, gnashing his teeth, and hissed, "Wang Wei, you beast!"

"Hey, Li Yunxi! Your son’s condition has nothing to do with me. Even though I hated you for taking Chen Lin, I had no reason to take it out on your son, especially since he is Chen Lin’s son too," Wang Wei protested frantically. "Officers, his son being disabled has nothing to do with me. Zhou Xuan is slandering me!"

The two police officers, having overheard the conversation, realized that Wang Wei might be implicated in other crimes. However, as this was merely Zhou Xuan’s speculation without concrete evidence, they were unable to make an immediate judgment.

"Mr. Li, and you, young man, we don't fully understand the details of what you were just discussing. Why don't you come to the police station with us and explain everything in detail?"

Li Yunxi looked at Wang Wei, though he longed to have the police arrest him immediately and force a confession, he understood that this was only a suspicion based on Zhou Xuan's observation. He agreed to the officers' request to provide a formal statement regarding Li Tianyi.

Yes, he would file a report! He had to ensure the police uncovered the truth.

He had made up his mind: if Wang Wei was truly responsible, he would not let him off lightly. The suffering he and Chen Lin had endured over the years, combined with the harm inflicted upon Tianyi, was more than enough to warrant severe legal consequences for Wang Wei.

Zhou Xuan accompanied them to the station, where he and Li Yunxi recounted the details of Li Tianyi’s condition, their grievances with Wang Wei, and Zhou Xuan’s suspicions.

Meanwhile, Li Yunxi called his father to inform him about Wang Wei. Upon hearing the news, Li Jing was so furious that he scolded his son for not telling him sooner. He immediately contacted the Police Chief, demanding that the case be investigated thoroughly.

Thus, Zhou Xuan and Li Yunxi left the police station, buoyed by the Police Chief’s promise to solve the case as soon as possible.

"Zhou Xuan, thank you," Li Yunxi said, looking at him with deep gratitude.

"Mr. Li, you are too kind. Let us hope we find the evidence needed to bring Wang Wei to justice."
