Eastern Continent, Tian Shu Prefecture.

“What a pity. The Huo family has traded for generations, amassing countless assets, only to be wiped out in the end over a broken Spirit Pill.”

“The Broken Spirit Pill can enhance the quality of a Heaven-grade Qi Palace, and if fate allows, it increases the chance of stepping into the Fusion Realm by thirty percent.”

“It is indeed no ordinary item. If the Huo family had the strength of the other two great clans, they wouldn't have ended up utterly annihilated.”

“Alas... a man’s wealth is his own undoing.”

At an open-air grave, two men, one fat and one thin, were digging with iron spades.

Beside them lay a slender youth, silent and pale, his abdomen split wide open, blood pouring out in an unending stream.

Clearly, all signs of life had ceased.

The fat man turned to look at the youth, his face full of mockery.

“I really don’t know how this Huo Qing managed to become the young master of the Huo family. After swallowing up so many of their resources, he couldn’t even break through the third level of the Qi Gathering Realm.”

“A dog could do better than him.”

The thin man spoke as well, his face twisted with envy.

“The Huo family was exterminated by the combined forces of the Yun and Xie families. All their fortune has fallen into their hands.”

“If we do our job well, maybe we’ll get a little something for ourselves,” the fat man said, pondering aloud.

The thin man nodded. After devouring the Huo family, the power of those two clans would surely expand rapidly. As their servants, they too could strut about with borrowed authority.

“What should we do with this one?” The fat man glanced at Huo Qing.

“He’s the young master, bound to have treasures on him. We should take them before they gather dust,” the thin man said greedily.

With that, the fat man waddled over, reaching to search Huo Qing’s storage pouch.

Bang!

A dazzling sword light burst forth, sharp and relentless, slicing off one of each man’s arms.

Gouts of blood shot into the air.

“Aaah!” Their screams pierced the silence, clutching their wounds, faces ashen with terror.

Not far away, Huo Qing’s body suddenly twitched. His eyelids fluttered, and he slowly opened his eyes.

Apart from the graves, all he saw was confusion.

“Why am I...”

The next moment, he turned his head slightly and saw the thin man rushing at him, machete in hand, bringing it down hard on his head.

“Playing tricks? Think you can fool us so easily?!”

The thin man gritted his teeth, desperately suppressing the fear in his eyes.

A dead man had just come back to life before him!

Huo Qing frowned and raised his palm, meeting the descending machete.

Clang!

A metallic clash rang out, and Huo Qing’s fleshly hand, indestructible in that instant, sent both the man and his blade flying through the air.

With a dull thud, the thin man landed flat on his back, sword and blade pointing downward, the blade piercing straight through his chest.

Even in death, his eyes were filled with disbelief.

“I’ve been reborn.”

Now Huo Qing understood. This body was not his own—it was far too weak.

The fat man’s hair stood on end, instinct screaming at him to flee, but if he ran now, he’d never earn favor from the two great families.

Suddenly, he made up his mind, snatched up a blade, and charged at Huo Qing in a fury, aiming for his neck.

He refused to believe a dead man could stir up real trouble. Kill this freak and the reward would last a lifetime!

Huo Qing’s expression was cold. He merely extended his finger and pointed. A flash of light, infused with sword energy, severed the blade in an instant.

Sword energy swept forth, riddling the fat man’s body with holes. He died in terror.

Huo Qing’s eyes remained calm; not even his breath was disturbed. Killing them was as trivial as swatting flies.

His gaze grew distant, then filled with hatred and murderous intent.

In his previous life, he had been the chief disciple of the Supreme Sword Field in the Great Cang Domain, a peerless prodigy hailed as the greatest in tens of millennia.

His master was the sect leader, who had once found a mysterious sword embryo, thereby attracting the attention of the other two sword sanctuaries.

The Supreme Sword Field was annihilated overnight.

The other two sword fields, failing to get the sword embryo, descended into madness and slaughtered everyone, even beheading his master, Liu Wujin.

“Master told me, if I survived, I must flee far away and never return,” Huo Qing reminisced.

He remembered holding off five peak experts of the same realm alone, until he fell, exhausted and full of regret.

“Master, you were wrong. I was always too stubborn to heed your words.”

Huo Qing touched his nose and suddenly chuckled, though deep in his eyes, a killing intent cold enough to freeze the air lurked.

Raised by his master since childhood, the bonds of the sect were as close as family. To let it go was unforgivable.

“So, Heavenly Profound Sword Field, Myriad Spirits Sword Field—I need your blood to appease the countless wronged souls of my Supreme Sword Field...”

He murmured to himself.

From the original body’s memories, he learned that this was the Great Cang Domain, one of the nine great domains; the final battle of his past life had taken place in the heart of the Sacred Ancestor Domain.

“There is a long road ahead...”

One domain was the lowest of the nine, the other the highest.

In a daze, his consciousness sank into his dantian. What he saw was a tangled mess of veins and a shattered dantian, with chaotic spiritual energy rampaging within.

“What a ruined body—truly disgraceful.”

Huo Qing frowned.

To avenge himself, he needed great power. Those two sword fields were backed by superlative experts of the Myriad Break Realm.

Even in his previous life, Huo Qing could not withstand even ten moves from such an opponent.

In his past life, it had taken him twenty years to progress through the Qi Gathering, Earth Spirit, Heaven Spirit, Fusion, Spirit Transformation, Spirit Communication, Converging Palace, Hundred Wastes, and Thousand Barriers Realms.

The Thousand Barriers Realm was a lower extreme, just one step from the Myriad Break Realm, yet that step was an unbridgeable chasm.

He had tried every means but could not last ten moves against a Myriad Break master.

Let alone now, with a body so weak it could barely cultivate.

In that instant, a deafening sword cry echoed from within. Before Huo Qing could react, his consciousness was forcibly drawn inward.

In the chaotic cosmos, ten colossal swords stood, their ends unseen, each wreathed in fire, ice, thunder, and other auras.

Their mere presence made the entire space tremble.

“Is this... the Primal Sword of Creation?”

Huo Qing’s eyes widened in shock.

The Primal Sword of Creation had existed since the dawn of time. In his past life, he had only heard of it—never expected to see it here.

At the center of the ten divine swords hovered a massive, blunt blade, its light dim, scars marring its surface, its aura withered.

Yet even so, the ten divine swords bowed to it as if before a deity, sheathing their power.

“Master’s sword embryo!”

Huo Qing was utterly dumbfounded. That imperial presence—what else could it be?

“The Ancestral Sword was born from the chaos of the cosmos. After the ancient war, it was split into ten—the ten Primal Swords of Creation.

The remaining sword embryo seeks a worthy inheritor. A million years have passed, and the ancient demon souls stir again. To claim this sword is to face calamity. Will you try?”

Huo Qing was silent for a moment, then nodded.

The Ancestral Sword was forbidden in this world. If he claimed it and was discovered, countless eyes would covet it.

But the blood of the Supreme Sword Field’s disciples could not be shed in vain. Some must pay the price.

In the next moment, the ten Primal Swords and the central sword embryo transformed into a river of sword energy, surging into Huo Qing’s body.

Buzz!

Instantly, he felt every bone in his body shatter, every vein rupture, his dantian reduced to dust, sword energy rampaging within and ravaging everything.

Eyes bloodshot, Huo Qing clenched his teeth and endured.

He knew that if he lost consciousness during this near-reformation agony, he would truly perish.

Time passed. At some point, Huo Qing’s tightly shut eyes fluttered, and a power utterly unlike before suddenly burst forth!
