Ji Shichu didn’t understand why Aunt He would be moved to tears when she heard Sakura Yao play the cello. However, he had a feeling that the mysteries troubling him would soon be unraveled.

At eight o’clock on Saturday morning, the whole group had gathered. Old Guo had paid out of his own pocket to rent a large bus in town for the children and instructed the driver to ensure their safe return.

The old bus rattled and swayed for over two hours before finally arriving in City A.

“Make sure everyone memorizes my phone number. Don’t forget it,” said Dong Rui, holding an old-fashioned phone that belonged to his father.

In a small place like Ping Town, smartphones were almost nonexistent; having a keypad phone at home was already considered good.

For many, it was their first time leaving Ping Town, and seeing the towering skyscrapers for the first time stirred awe as well as a hint of unease.

“So, where do we go now?” He Miao adjusted her black-rimmed glasses and reminded everyone, “Don’t wander off alone; don’t get lost.”

“Uh... this...” Dong Rui scratched his head. “It’s my first time in the city too. We should find somewhere fun to play first, then a good place to eat!”

He Miao was speechless.

Ji Shichu had once lived here with his mother, Ji Nuan, but if asked where to find fun or good food, he wouldn’t know either.

After all, he and Ji Nuan had struggled hard just to survive, with no time or money to waste on such things. Besides, he didn’t have good memories of this place.

“Let’s ask someone,” suggested one of them.

“Let’s ask a police officer! At least we won’t get scammed!”

The group huddled together, chattering excitedly.

At that moment, Sakura Yao, who had been daydreaming, glanced at everyone, then slowly took out her phone and tapped the screen.

“Wow! A smartphone! And the latest model!” Dong Rui’s sharp eyes immediately recognized it.

Sakura Yao blinked, seeing Dong Rui’s admiration, and handed the phone to him.

But before Dong Rui could touch it, Ji Shichu slapped it back into the girl’s pocket.

“Keep it safe. Personal belongings, especially phones, shouldn’t be handed around,” he said as he tucked the phone back.

Sakura Yao obediently nodded.

Dong Rui felt a little disappointed but quickly perked up and rejoined the lively discussion.

A group of top students were utterly useless in this unfamiliar city.

About ten minutes later, before they could decide on a plan, several stretched Bentleys slowly pulled up.

A middle-aged man dressed sharply, wearing white gloves, respectfully approached Sakura Yao.

“Miss, everything has been arranged.”

“Thank you, Uncle Ba.” Sakura Yao smiled sweetly, then looked at her stunned classmates. “Everyone, let’s get in.”

Seeing the kids frozen in shock, the man smiled kindly. “Hello, students. I am the lady’s butler, you can call me Uncle Ba. Today’s itinerary has been arranged. I hope you all have a great time. Please, get in the car.”

With that, several attendants in black uniforms opened the car doors.

Dong Rui swallowed hard, his soul momentarily possessed: “Holy cow!”

The others returned to reality and echoed his amazement.

“Oh my God!”

“Wow!”

“No way, seriously?”

“Is this a car or a train?”

Only Ji Shichu kept his eyes on the girl the entire time.

He had known from the start that Sakura Yao came from a wealthy family, as evident from her clothing and accessories. But even so, this display was beyond his expectations.

Clearly, the girl wasn’t bothered by it. Such grandeur was probably nothing special to her—perhaps even an everyday occurrence.

That made sense; she was simple-minded and likely only wanted everyone to be happy at the moment.

As for anything else…

Her little head just didn’t think about other matters.

“Sakura Yao, you really are the kind of heiress from TV dramas. Look, you even have Sebastian!”

“Sakura Yao?” She looked puzzled. “Sebastian?”

“That’s Uncle Ba!” Dong Rui pointed at the middle-aged man beside her, eyes gleaming. “That super famous butler, Sebastian! Black suit, white gloves—this is literally Sebastian himself!”

He Miao groaned, rubbing her forehead, and dragged Dong Rui aside.

“Help! So embarrassing!”

The other classmates gradually relaxed thanks to Dong Rui’s infectious enthusiasm and eagerly climbed into the cars, their eyes full of anticipation and joy.

“You’re Sebastian, right? Right?!” Dong Rui kept pestering Uncle Ba.

Uncle Ba just smiled with narrowed eyes.

Kids these days were really lively.

But perhaps it was because of this group of children that the lady…

Thinking of this, Uncle Ba fixed his gaze on Sakura Yao.

Although Aunt He had said on the phone that the lady’s condition had improved, seeing it in person made him truly believe it.

His lady was genuinely getting better, little by little.

Going to Ping Town had truly been the right decision.

That day, under Uncle Ba’s arrangements, the entire group had an unforgettable time!

No queues—just exclusive access! They could play however they wanted!

At every stop, someone was there to take care of them!

Heaven!

This was what money power looked like!

Yes, it was money power!

Everyone looked at Sakura Yao with starry eyes.

Yet Sakura Yao mostly kept quiet, not joining in the games or merriment.

Uncle Ba quietly stayed by her side.

Ji Shichu wasn’t one to cause a fuss either, and besides, he was concerned about Sakura Yao—though perhaps overly so.

Still, if he wasn’t the one watching over her, he wouldn’t feel at ease.

“Miss, I’ve brought the cello,” Uncle Ba said kindly.

He was about to cut the cake when he noticed the silent young man beside him had already carefully sliced it into bite-sized pieces, doing such a perfect job that there was nothing to criticize.

This must be the young man Aunt He had mentioned, the one who always took care of the lady.

The young man was handsome, dressed in worn but clean clothes—a pleasant sight.

Uncle Ba wondered what the two others would think if they found out about him; it might cause an uproar.

Smiling, Uncle Ba shook his head at the thought.

“Miss has been in Ping Town thanks to your care, Aunt He told me,” Uncle Ba said politely to Ji Shichu.

“Chu Chu is the best!” Sakura Yao, who rarely spoke, smiled brightly.

Uncle Ba raised an eyebrow.

The lady was normally quiet and prone to daydreaming.

She rarely spoke up for others, let alone praise someone.

Such moments were truly rare.

Thinking this, Uncle Ba glanced again at the young man.

This was indeed a miracle.

Uncle Ba and Ji Shichu exchanged a few simple words before falling silent.

The children played until four in the afternoon, reluctant to leave Ping Town.

Sakura Yao’s cello was carefully carried by Ji Shichu all the way.

Just then, a group of flashy young men and women emerged from an internet café, smoking as they walked.

One girl with dyed pink hair and heavy makeup glanced casually across the street.

Her gaze suddenly fixed on the tall, handsome young man.

Her blood-red lips curled into a smile.

“Ji Shichu, I finally found you.”
