Volume 1, Chapter 32: All Deceivers Are Men
The palace maids chattered among themselves.
The attendant answered repeatedly and hurried back to Golden Ladle Restaurant, where he told the proprietress everything that had happened.
Looking at that pale, bloodless face through the reinforced glass, Lin Rui wished more than anything that he were the one lying inside.
I wanted to break free of his grip, but his hand clutched mine with such force that I could not pull away. He clearly did not look very strong, so why were his hands so powerful? No matter how hard I struggled, I could not escape.
Holding the Crystal of Spacetime, Jiang Xiao focused his attention and scanned it. Just as Jiang Ling had said, it was filled with countless laws concerning space and time. On the strength of the crystal alone, it could at least be considered an ultimate treasure.
Everyone in the caravan knew him only as a traveling cloth merchant, but no one knew that there was also a living person bound hand and foot inside his carriage. Ning Xiu believed that even if Chu Wanglun were exposed, no one in the Sun Family caravan would say anything, but it was still best to remain cautious and discreet.
