Chapter Seventeen: Everything of Hers Was Given Away by Fei Jing...

The seaside castle in Hawaii was completed when their little daughter was one year old. At that time, Fei Jing was overwhelmed by the scent of his daughter’s urine, holding a milk bottle in his left hand while awkwardly changing diapers with his right. Lu Tian tenderly offered to take care of their beloved child. But he said angrily, “You two are the women I care about most; I won’t let either of you suffer!” He then promised that for every year their daughter grew, he would build a castle for her in a different country. When she grew up, it would be her dowry, so the husband’s family wouldn’t dare bully their little princess.
“Sir, are you too busy and forgot? Half a month ago, didn’t you already gift this castle to Miss Lu Youyou?” At this moment, Lu Youyou was pregnant inside the castle! Fei Jing pressed his thin lips together. That was just how he was—anything unrelated to Lu Tian or the Fei Group was immediately forgotten.
“Hide her away. Let her be a good parasite for a few days. Don’t make things difficult for me, and absolutely do not let her appear in front of Tian Tian even once!” Such a harsh demand didn’t even consider the mistress as a person. The butler nodded and cautiously glanced at Lu Tian. Seeing her merely wearing headphones and resting with closed eyes, he breathed a sigh of relief and quickly returned to the castle.
What even Fei Jing didn’t know was that there was not a single sound coming through those headphones from beginning to end...
Entering the castle, in the first courtyard, to please their one-year-old daughter, the novice father had worn down ten fingertips crafting a little treehouse himself—now destroyed! In its place was a children’s bumper car track being hurriedly built atop a pile of discarded wood. The workers walked over cheerfully, openly envious. “Mr. Fei, you really love your wife. Miss Lu Youyou hasn’t even given birth yet, and you already gave her such a huge castle. Mrs. Fei is overjoyed every day.”
“Exactly, Mrs. Fei also said that Mr. Fei didn’t like the little girl who used to live here because she was unlucky and died young, so all the previous facilities were torn down.”
“True love between husband and wife—thinking of each other.” Such comments came from all sides.
Lu Tian merely looked at Fei Jing with curiosity and asked, “Have you been seeing another woman outside?”
Her unnaturally calm tone only heightened the unease. But no one noticed that beneath her sleeve, her hand tightly clasped the urn containing their daughter’s ashes, already pale and strained as blood retreated. At that moment, she wished with all her heart that souls did not really exist.
Because she feared that their daughter, who adored her father so deeply, might overhear these hateful words of disdain and be left lonely and heartbroken.
“Honey, it must be a misunderstanding, I...”

“Brother-in-law, sister, did you plant a GPS on me? How is it that I keep running into you wherever I go?” Lu Youyou appeared, wearing a delicate high-end silk nightgown, charming and coquettish as she ran out of the master’s quarters. But if one looked closely, her gait was limping and strange, her legs tightly crossed.
The butler chased after her, sweating and helpless.
Lu Youyou clasped her hands behind her back, hooking her pinkies together and bending slightly to coquettishly plead with Lu Tian, “Sister, brother-in-law just worries about me. I haven’t been feeling well lately, so he let me stay here for a bit to recover. Don’t think the wrong thing, okay~” She spun around and smiled brightly at the local workers, “You guys are too much! Even if brother-in-law pampers me with all kinds of ginseng and bird’s nest every day, it’s all because of my sister’s favor, remember that?”
“Because of Lu Tian’s favor, you’re allowed to freely renovate this castle and even have the property transferred to your name?”
In the past, Fei Jing could give Lu Tian anything, except he would never put her name on any asset! Even the shares in the group were all held by him on her behalf.
Wang Lu also said, “Mr. Fei has always been very wary of you. If you want him to lose everything, you must tread carefully with every step. If you fail, he will make your life worse than death!”
Lu Zhiduan handed a plate of sun-kissed Japanese grapes to Lu Youyou. He coldly glanced sideways at his sister and snorted, “What are you doing here? Seeking humiliation?”
“Big brother! Sister is the true eldest lady of the Lu family. Don’t treat her like that. And brother-in-law loves sister most. Between us, everything is clean and clear. Please don’t misunderstand,” Lu Youyou said arrogantly behind the scenes, but in front of Fei Jing, she wished she could brand “I’m not the mistress” across her face.
She deliberately moved closer and stretched out a small hand. Whether it was intentional or not, the bubble sleeve of her dress slid up, revealing a passionate bite mark on her gum—an unmistakable, intimate kiss mark—exposed plainly before Lu Tian.
“Oh dear, sister, I bumped into it by accident. Please don’t misunderstand.” The young lady nervously covered it up, but her true intentions were clear to all.
Fei Jing, annoyed and agitated, shoved her toward Lu Zhiduan and warned, “You take care of your own sister. Otherwise, you’ll bear the consequences!”
With that, he took Lu Tian’s cold hand and headed to the master bedroom.
The room was fairly tidy, though freshly cleaned. She carefully placed their daughter’s urn by the floor-to-ceiling window, where the sunlight was just right and faced the sea.
Buzz.
Lu Youyou sent a photo.
On the same cashmere carpet by the window, a man and woman were entangled in a desperate embrace. The woman was tied with a red thread, kneeling on the floor, serving the man.
— “Sister, do you think if Nana’s ashes are placed there, would she see this too?”

Almost simultaneously, Lu Tian clutched their daughter’s urn tightly to her chest again! She moved so abruptly that the back of her hand slammed against the window frame, causing her to cry out in pain.
Fei Jing rushed out of the walk-in closet, gripping her wrist. His handsome phoenix-like eyes glistened with a moistness meant only for her.
He spoke with a pained tenderness, “You’re not a child anymore. How can you be so careless? Don’t move. Sit on the bed. I’ll get the first aid kit.”
The soft latex mattress was comfortable to sit on.
Lu Tian remembered how their little daughter loved to nestle in her father’s arms, lying together in the castle bed, sucking on a pacifier, cooing softly to soothe her overworked father to sleep.
“Nana, do you think Mommy is a failure? Grandpa and Grandma died because of Mommy, and even the marriage she chose ended like this. Maybe Lu Zhi was right—I’m just born unlucky. Happiness is too extravagant a dream for me.”
They spent the whole night sleeping separately on either side of the bed, not disturbing one another.
At midnight, during the Hong Kong–Beijing noon break, Lu Tian confirmed the man was sound asleep before pulling out her phone to message Wang Lu.
— “Fei Jing has been transferred out of Beijing and Hong Kong. He’ll return in a week. Use this time to quickly establish the nominee company.”
Avoiding the hospital check-up was a moment’s inspiration.
The real reason for coming to Hawaii was to continue her plan.
Outside, a storm was raging over the sea.
Large raindrops pelted the window with a relentless patter.
Waves crashed amid flashes of lightning and thunder.
In an instant, this earthly paradise was mercilessly dragged into a living hell, beyond redemption...
“Don’t be afraid.” Fei Jing murmured in his sleep, instinctively pulling Lu Tian close. He patted her tense back, stiff from fear of the thunderstorm, whispering, “Sweetheart, don’t hate me. I love you so much, and I’m terribly afraid of losing you.”
Boom—boom—boom—
The terrible weather lasted all day.
The next day, a visitor arrived at the castle, introducing herself, “Hello, pretty sister, my name’s Little Dumpling. Boo-hoo~ I got lost from my silly daddy. Can you help me find him?”
